Amanda Freaking Kessel.
That is all.
After leading the Gophers to back to back championships, including a perfect season last year during which she won the Patty Kazmaier Award (most outstanding player in Women's College Hockey)--all while playing injured--she is dominating the Olympics.
The best part? She still has a year of eligibility left, so she will be returning to the Gophers for her senior season next year...who are 28-1-1 this year without her.

Got your USA and Canada scores mixed up. It was Canada 3 against Finland and US 9 against the Swiss.

Canada beat the USA 3-2 today, advancing both into the semi-finals. Finland beat Switzerland 4-3 in OT.

US team blew it at the end. Mental mistakes lead to the two late goals for Canada.
Need to get a hold of themselves or they will be screwed in overtime. Right now all momentum with Canada.

US gets screwed by a BS call in OT. 5 seconds into their power play and they are called for a phantom "slash". A play that happens countless times each game without a call.
Then, true to form with how they had been playing from the second half of the third period on, a USA player wiffs on a wide open shot and commits a turnover allowing a fast break. With no other choice but to commit a penalty, the US ends up down a player.
So, what should have been a US power play ends up a Canadian one--including a 5 on 3 for a few seconds. Total BS. I hate "even up" calls.

| still, the US should have won this game in regulation, 2-1. That last second goal when Canada pulled their goalie, the US' defense lagged. Plus their was that oh-so-close empty net goal that should have sealed it also.
