BEFORE the Douglas exit, I was talking to some friends and stated that Linn is going after Liston to REPLACE Douglas. Liston FITS into Indy system well and is similar to Douglas. She is 6'1, can shoot like NO OTHER in college as of now (KML is hurt thats the only reason she is not included), and now is taking people off the dribble. The only thing thats different is that Douglas defense is better BUT Douglas is not extremely fast so Linn can teach Liston better techniques. I think she goes for Liston at the #9 pick. |
Not happening. Trust me. Liston and Jeanette Pohlen are comparable, we don't need both.

resign larkins
resign Breland
draft Dolson at #5
draft Hartley or simmons or marshall at #9
maybe KK Houser in the 3rd round
or try to sign Wiggins if you don't like any of the above
January/Clarendon
Hartley or Simmons or Marshall/Pohlen/Houser
Zealous/Christmas
Catchings/Breland
Larkins/Dolson/Godlett
Doesn't look to shabby |
Just FYI, KK Houser tore her ACL late in the college season. |
And Sasha Goodlett was waived midseason.
Lynetta Kizer should be on the roster. |
Dunn has had pretty good success turning Larkins, Christmas and Breland into to useful players. Perhaps she can work her magic with Kizer. |
Actually Kizer makes the team look a lot stronger, now there is some depth in the post and all of the player have room for growth in their games

Would be all for a UCONN reunion of Hartley/Dolson in Indy.

If she's good enough to go at 9, Atlanta should take her at 8.

Lin Dunn added her thanks to Tully's tweet from yesterday - so looks like the Davenport retirement news is true. |

I think it's more like this at this point:
January/Clarendon
Zellous/ #9 guard
Christmas/Pohlen
Catchings/Breland (if she's back)
Larkins/#5 post/Kizer
yeah it's possible that they would add Dolson and Hartley, which would probably help both adjust more quickly.

She's an unrestricted free agent after that mess at the end of last season where Douglas came back and then got instantly hurt again, and the rules forced them to waive Breland instead of Hassell.
So Breland can sign wherever she darn well pleases. |

good. maybe she can join her UNC alum at Seattle. Or I would love to see her as Lib. Even if she can't play starters minutes, she is valuable in the time she can spend on the floor.

Yes. You're post makes the most sense than any other roster breakdowns for Indiana.

Minnesota drafted Breland. Maybe they would have an advantage. Vet min + that eminent playoff bonus for going to practice two hours a day and sitting on the bench has got to appeal to some.

so now that Breland is gone as well, the roster dwindles. Lin doesn't know how to pull a Phoenix, but this might be the year:
January/Clarendon
Zellous/
Christmas/Pohlen
Catchings/
Larkins/Kizer
The good news is that there is definitely cap room! They have two first round picks so those kids are pretty much locks to make the team. Whoever they invite to camp also has a pretty good shot at making the team.
Would they possibly pick up a FA guard - like maybe Tan White - then take post/post with their two picks?
Is Ely recovered and playing again? She could be helpful.

Dunn's a lot smarter than me, but is Clarendon really going to be a decent backup pg?
As for the draft picks - with two picks do they go a safe call for both (Dolson, McBride, Achonwa), or gamble on one of the picks and go for someone like Gray or Gatling with No. 9?
BTW - they also have Hassell, for what its worth.

Mrytz, are you accusing PHX of something? This is very unlike you.
How about this?
January/Clarendon
Zellous/Wiggins(for free)/Pohlen
Catchings(you know you want her back here)/Christmas
Larkins/Achonwa
Dolson/Kizer
Lin's back in business, baby!

I doubt that Achonwa is available because the Storm desperately need help in the post

Does Seattle take Howard or Achonwa, or is Howard gone before Seattle's pick, so it's a moot point?

Even if they're both available, I kind of see Seattle like Achonwa for their system/team better, even though I fully believe Howard will be a better pro.

Tamika is not moving back to the three!!! I keep saying this.
I want Marissa Coleman, not Candice Wiggins.

Our starting lineup which advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals this past season is returning. Add a post player in Kizer, the #5 and #9 draft picks, and potential free agent signings and this team actually should be better than last year.
