When was Pokey a lock for COY? Just for drafting EDD? Both T & Alger have been recognized all along as doing a lot w/ less. Based on where Washington was, COY has to be Thibault for me.

So I guess the assumption is 35-40% of the voters will vote for the coach of the team with the best record that improved the most (Chicago) even if it was due to staying mostly healthy and drafting an instant superstar, while 60-65% are smart enough to vote for the coach that got the most out of their team, but that may be a 50/50 a split between Agler & Thibault.

Somehow, I don't think Whiz is gloating over the Liberty's disappointing season this year. Even if Whiz was still the Lib's coach, they would've been at sub-.500 level, with more over-the-hill ex-Monarchs around.

Thibault deserves COY on merit, but I think Pokey gets it because of politics -- Mike T's won it twice already, and Pokey hasn't won it yet. Shouldn't be a factor, but it is.

All I know is that I, as a Lynx fan, am sorely disappointed. I've gotten very used to 27-7. 26-8? You're slipping, Cheryl.

Also, Phoenix should be docked for games deliberately lost last year. No, I am never letting it go. Rolling Eyes
