I know! I'm glad she had that tough match with Svetlana because that seemed to hone her game to very high level. Methinks Maria will be spanked severely. Wink

Maria played much better than I expected. She has been impressing me since the Australian Open where she appeared to maximize her own personal speed. It used to be somewhat easy for the more talented (read that: accurate) hitters to simply beat her by forcing her to run. She has made that gambit more difficult. I wonder if we will see Serena catch Martina N. and Chrissy Evert in overall slam wins by the US Open.

Serena is only the third woman to win all four majors at least twice, following Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova.
