I'm tempted to agree. But making your sexual orientation public knowledge IS a choice. |
Or at least it should be. |
Heterosexuals don't have to choose to whether to make their sexual orientation public or not. It's generally assumed that people are straight unless they indicate otherwise.

although I am happy and content with my boyfriend and my 2 kids I have no problem with the women being gay because it is their choice they can do what ever the hell they wanna do it really does'nt affect how they play so I dont care if they are or not
but I have wondered about some of the players |
Agree very much with your overall sentiment, but I don't believe sexual orientation is a choice. |
I agree with you 100 % but it does'nt bother me being a straight female that some of my favorite players may be a certain way you have to look at the person people should'nt be judging them that's what I mean by if they chose to be like that then it's a personal choice they are all grown women ya know holla

I meant that it should be up to the person to decide whether to make their sexual orientation public. If a person chooses to keep it a private matter, I don't think that it's right for other people to make it public for them. The choice should be theirs.
Sorry for the confusion.

There's a growing contingent who support outing anti-gay gays...check this out:

Barney Frank's opinions on outing are often quoted as "The Barney Frank Rule."
Gay Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said he endorses the practice in limited circumstances. “I am not inclined to do it, but I think if the congressman is rabidly anti-gay, it’s appropriate,” Frank said. “You don’t have a right to be a hypocrite; you don’t have a right to exempt yourself from the negative things you do to other people.”
Wave of outings hits Congress, Washington Blade, Friday, June 18, 2004 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outing |
In my day-to-day life, I'd never out another ordinary person. But when it comes to elected officials and others in positions of authority, if they are creating or cooperating with anti-gay laws or policies, I think outing them is quite appropriate. At the very least, don't sleep with your enemy!

Yeah, you'd think so. But from some of the comments that appear on this message board at times (including the initial post in this thread), sometimes I wonder.

I don't think we've ever gone overboard with this "issue" here. People get called out when they are getting carried away with information, if you know what I mean. After all, this isn't a gossip message board.
