I'm guessing this one wasn't, but it's still an 80's classic to me

Never heard it before. My Eddy Huntington experience began and ended with "USSR".

Probably for the best. My experience in the genre was quite extensive. Not something I advertised widely at the time.

Everyone knows this one of course, especially thanks to the recent assist from Michelle Jenneke:

If you're going to include Italo Disco then this thread is gonna go for a looong time!

I never heard of the song (Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy") until it was used in a Listerine Cool Mint commercial, back in 1993 (click below).

When it comes to cheesy songs from the 1980's....it doesn't get any cheesier than Michael Bolton! Mad

This is one of his early hits from the late-1980's:

The only Bolton-related site that really matters is....

In an effort to include more 80's cheese that luuuc will be familiar with, today's entry comes from a pretty, wholesome Aussie teenager (kind of a Down Under Taylor Swift) who had a couple of hits in 1987 then vanished into the ether. I wonder whatever happened to her...

Her other hit was a fabulously 80's cover of The Locomotion

More than happy for you to put up some Kylie (if you want serious cheese, see her duet with Jason Donovan) but don't worry - I'm familiar with the majority of the cheese you've posted, and have loved most of your choices.

Unlike the rest of the world, the US has been mostly resistant to Kylie. "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" was a hit here (as it was everywhere) and "Love at First Sight" got a little play, but otherwise she's been non-existent on US radio since the songs above.

That one came out at a time when it was fashionable to do a disco-beat medley of songs. It all started with the Beatles medley by the Dutch studio session group, Stars On 45, in 1981.

No love for Asia?

Song is cheesy, the video makes it about 20 times worse.

Nice. Pass The Dutchie is one I was going to post here (much cheesier IMO, and more well-known) but it's good to have the original.
(and pilight - I did not expect to see Kon Kan here! First time I've heard that song in ages. A friend had that album in his car for months and it became a big running joke about not letting him do the driving. I was really into New Order, and he thought that was better Evil or Very Mad )

Anyway back to some serious cheese...

I thought it was sufficiently cheesy. Lynn Anderson deserved better treatment.

For today, we have a white actor covering a great Arrow soca number...
