What do you get when you mix 1980's rap and movie star John Wayne (or, at least, an imitation of him)?

You get "Rappin' Duke" (1984)!

I have this on a 12" somewhere in the basement!

Which seems like a very appropriate place for it! 😀

Some great bands from the 60s continued to make great music.

And some completely turned to making Giant Cheddar.

I went back through this thread and remarkably I didn't see the group and song that to me best represents the entire concept of '80s cheese.

This certainly seems like an appropriate addition to this thread.

This guy always struck me as a combination software nerd and the older brother of Anthony Michael Hall's character in the Breakfast Club. The raincoat's a nice touch.

Even Grace Slick hated the song.

While I can empathize with the message, this one made me laugh...and for all the wrong reasons! Shocked

I pity the fool who don't find this video sorta amusing! Wink

Although it was recorded in this current century, this cover version of a heavy-metal classic song from 1980 warrants inclusion on this board.

You probably haven't lived until you heard Wing's version of AC/DC's "Back In Black"! Shocked

For some reason, this was a huge hit in the early-1980's in Europe.

must have been Trump's favorite song. He still doesn't know why he can't just push the button.

"Your Love" by the Outfield is my go-to karaoke song and one of my all-time favorite 1980s classics.

Pat Wilson's "Bop Girl", from 1983. A huge hit in Australia at the time. To my knowledge, it didn't chart in the U.S., though it did get airplay on MTV back then.

A then-unknown Nicole Kidman (who was 15 at the time) appears in this video.
