It's now Salary Cap Challenge Shocked Exclamation Arrow

You start the season with $35,000,000 to invest in a six-man roster. Each week your team scores fantasy points based on your players' in-game performance. Player prices dynamically update every week depending on market demand for each player. If you can invest well and spot bargains, you'll actually earn money to invest in better players. You get only two trades each week, so plan well.

It is currently set up as head to head, but I can change any of the league settings to suit us.

I would like to see Zeke and Mark Cuban trying to play that one.

And you thought Paul Allen was bad..... Zeke now has a payroll that's twice as much as his, topping at $116 mil. Shocked

Is anyone playing this NBA.com game? Question

I am going to go public with the league in a day or two. I hope those that have expressed interest will go ahead and join. It is fun when you know your opponents! Smile

My nephew runs a head to head league that's usually pretty good. Cheryl if you and RM619 want to join, or anyone else, let me know and I'll send an invite.

It seems we are not getting any takers, so I'm with you for joining his league. I'm still hoping espn has the Fast Break/VGM game, but as of now, there's no mention on their site.

I am going to play the NBA League Manager (similar to VGM/Fast Break).
If anyone is interested, please PM me and let me know which type of scoring you'd like to have in our Private League. Here's the link:

http://fantasy.nba.com/howTo.cfm

Personally, I like the Point-based scoring. Right now it's kinda split between Head-to-Head and Point-based.
We have 4 openings for another entries.

Looks like there are a few options available, however, I did send an e-mail to espn and just received a reply:

Rick,

Thank you for contacting the League Office.

The mini games we will be offering this upcoming season are called NBA
Fastbreak and Hard Court Pick em'. We ask that you please remain
patient and keep an eye out for them as they should launch on our
Fantasy Basketball home page very soon. Good luck this season!

Thank you for playing ESPN.com Fantasy Games!

Thanks for the heads up, Rick. So they are doing Fastbreak again, huh?
Ok, I'm going with that one since it's the closest thing to VGM we'll get.

How is NBA Fastbreak a mini game? Shocked It's huge. Sure it's going to be the same thing? Mini games are like the short-lived NBA Triple Play, where you had to pick 3 questions right by halftime of the televised game... Confused

Cheryl, RM, etc. who joined the other league.

Do me a favor please, go there and tell my nephew who you are. He's asking in the posts section. It's pretty funny, it's his league and he doesn't know many players.

We need a few more by the way!

I posted a message to your neph. As of now, that draft date may be an issue for me. I should know in the next few days if it is or not. In that case I may have to drop out. I'll keep you posted both here and on the yahoo site when I make the final decision. Hopefully you'll have time to get a replacement.

You know you don't have to be there for the draft. If you set your rankings, yahoo will auto draft for you if you aren't there. That's how I did our football league, and may have to do for this one too. If you don't alter the pre-draft rankings, it will just go down the line and pick the top numbers to fill your team.

Great!! Thanks for the info. Hate to miss out, especially if espn doesn't have fastbreak. All indications are that they will, but remember who we're dealing with...LOL

I'm not much on fantasy leagues, but I've got a tip for y'all. Don't sleep on Darko Milicic. I've seen all three Piston games so far, and it looks like the kid has arrived. Flip Saunders has started with a blank slate with him, and the kid is playing like Dumars expected two years ago.
