And on a tangent, if I were putting together a team of Olympians to give the US a run, I would have:

Starters:
Becky Hammon, Russia
Celine Dumerc, France
Kim Smith, Canada
Lauren Jackson, Australia
Erika De Souza, Brazil

Bench:
Liz Cambrage, Australia
Quanitra Hollingswort, Hungary
Jelena Ivansic, Croatia
Lilje Miao, China
Sandrine Gruda, France

That really shows how far the US is above the rest of the world.

It is, but some of these players are not even All-World. Many of them are not even WNBAers (whether by choice or not, that is irrelevant).
You gotta have more players from the Czech Republic, Russia, and Spain in there. Hell, you can give the US some trouble by just putting together a team with Americans competing for other countries (where's Sancho Lyttle, for instance?). Kim Smith over Penny Taylor? That's just not a good list...

I think they were referring to the players that played in the London Olympics... But this team still would get beat by 20 + by the Americans

no thanks. neither could guard the likes of Augustus, Moore or Taurasi. And there's better international players out there that didn't play in the Olympics.

PG: Becky Hammon(RUS)/Erin Phillips(AUS)/Elina Babkina(LAT)
SG: Celine Dumerc(FRA)/Miao LiJie(JAP)
SF: Alba Torrens(ESP)/Elena Danilochkina(RUS)
PF: Lauren Jackson(AUS)/Sancho Lyttle(ESP)/Sandrine Gruda(FRA)
C: Erika DeSouza(BRA)/Liz Cambage(AUS)

*Penny Taylor(AUS) would start at SF if healthy. Danilochkova would then be cut.

Sorry but i had to laugh really hard at the addition of Babkina and Vardarli laughs with me Laughing Danilochkina is not a SF. So i would take Viteckova as a SF. And switch Dumerc to point and Hammon or Phillips to SG. Your postrotation looks pretty good. And then you have a team who would make it pretty difficult for the USA.

I conducted my own team that actually participated in the '12 Olympics

I would swap Dee and Candace. This isn't supposed to be a career achievement award. Taurasi shot horribly in pool play. I know Parker had to be forced to play defense, but her skill and effect on games is undeniable. McCoughtry def gets the "most valuable per minute" award.

To me, most valuable means who was most valuable to their team. I think Taurasi is was valuable than Parker.
