Mo Farrah winning two Golds for Britain.

Old ladies of beach volleyball doing it again.

Watching the games here at work with my clients. They were like sponges soaking up the sports.

Anytime they put a microphone in Taurasis face, she is priceless!

When Mo Farah won his second gold, I was standing outside a bar/restaurant on the perimeter of the North Greenwich Arena (where they played the basketball semi-finals - fortunately, the race happened between the two semis). I was standing there because it gave me a lane to see one of their TVs, with Farah's race on it. There were stewards trying to get everyone to move on from that path because you're not supposed to stand there and hold up pedestrian traffic. But no one was moving anywhere anyway. Every last person was watching Mo, on whatever TV they could find a view of. And the whole place erupted when he held everyone off on the closing straight. I'll remember that.

Alongside that, Gemma Gibbons securing a medal in the judo, then immediately breaking down in tears and looking up into the sky saying "thank you mum" (her mother died 8 years ago of leukaemia), gets to me no matter how many times I see it. Rest of the story here if anyone's interested.

Sitting next to 70,000 people for women's soccer while we beat Brazil at Wembley was pretty fucking cool too Very Happy.

That's like how it was like too in South Korea when Kim Yuna won gold at the winter Olympics in 2010. The whole nation stopped to watch her routine and freaked out in jubilee when she won gold. It was awesome to witness it as a foreigner. Everyone cried.

Let's see.

#1. Women's 4x100 world record. Favorite event, dream outcome.

No particular order after that.

Aly R. winning gold in the floor exercise.
Gabby winning individual all around gold.
USA women swim team's successes.
Misty and Slim's 3-peat.
Women's soccer last minute goal over Canada, then on to Gold
Mo Farah and that white dude's gold and silver in the 10k meters.
Felix's gold medal redemption in the 200.
The Jamaican lady in the women's 100 and her story back home.
British women's heptathlon gold and her performance in the 800. (?)
Jamaican men's 4x100.

That the shit's finally over. YEAH!!!

I agree with this list except that David Boudia's gold in the individual 10m platform isn't here. I remember the last individual gold that Team USA got...Laura Wilkinson won the women's 10m platform in Sydney. Her every jump was awesome and the announcers were basically like, "Who is SHE???" because the Chinese were expected to totally dominate. Boudia's victory was the first men's individual 10m platform victory since the awesome Greg Lougainis did it in Seoul in '88. Just incredible!!! Smile

One other thing to add would be the womens 4x100 relay. Destroying a 27-year old world record (held by the East German dopers) was AWESOME!!!

For me, it was definitely watching fellow Boiler David Boudia's shocking win.
