Shanika Freeman, Jacksonville State
Ask Nell Fortner how good she is

Chelsea Newton of Rutgers. Injury prone but has the skills, smarts, and build to be in the WNBA. I agree with the Erica Smith-Taylor pick (I am coveting her for the Storm).
Mann will be drafted. There's 3 rounds.

How good is this Kraayveld kid from Oregon...she's got good size, but then so did Jenny Mowe.

I hope teams do sleep on her so that the Liberty can select her in the 2nd round.

I think Mann is well enough known not to be a sleeper. I saw her play as a sophomore and she was ready for the W back then.
I think a smart GM would pick up Tamia Williams (Fla). I also saw her as a soph, and she's kept getting better (and bigger)
Aisha Hollins (Long Beach) is a little rough around the edges, but maaaaybe....

I have my doubts. She was terrible against Duke... 4 points (1-8 from the floor, 1-2 from the line), 0 assists, 5 turnovers, 2 rebounds.

I agree with you Cam, she should be a steal.....Plus, her husband (a future middle wieght and classy guy), is a big supporter. Imagine the PR. After his last fight, he gave a shot out to LaTech. Even though Erica sat in the stands, ready to drop that load. Did she have the baby yet? I thought they said she was due in December. The guy doing the fight, said she was one of the top college players and a pro prospect._________________ (¯`v´¯

I am evil enough to want Erica Smith-Taylor to end up wherever Charlotte Smith-Taylor ends up. Would they be the first pair of hyphenated teammates to have to wear first initials? (in this warped little theoretical universe of mine, I mean)

Duke has been known to make an opposing player look bad now and then. LOL!

Mistie Williams is only a junior.
Jessica Moore needs to put on some muscle and/or develop some range. |

Let's not give up on her because of one bad game against one of the best defensive teams in the country. She's not a lottery player but she's got potential.

Sorry about Mistie, my mistake.
JMo has been able to hit the foul line extended jumper consistently lately...

What about Battle, IMO she'd be a good pro, but I'm not as knowledgable about that as other people.

I mentioned Battle in the other thread as a backup for Lennox in Seattle.

I watched the Alabama/South Carolina game last night and was impressed with Kate Mastin. I had never seen her play before, but she looks poised and was called a "playmaker" by Coach Ciampi, which I think is quite a compliment.
Anybody else seen her? She won't bring the house down, but I don't think she is a "project", either.

As I said in the other thread, Battle is more Stacey Thomas than Adia Barnes.

...thought I'd dredge this topic back up...
I watched the Texas/Iowa State game yesterday and was impressed with Anne O'Neill of ISU. She's 5'11" or so, good perimeter game, good handle, and a solid rebounder for her size. She could get a look see in someone's training camp...but then, I liked Angie Welle, also. |

I think Robinette has better pro potential than O'Neil.

I'm glad to see people talking about the sleepers, because I think there are a lot ofg them out there. But, GM's get on the great hype machine and they can't get off. Ofter overlooking talent.
Stever who's that in your avatar. Funny you did that, I'm going to make little buttons with them, for my site._________________ (¯`v´¯

...smoovie, I found a great photo sharing site I use to host all of my blog photos: http://www.flickr.com
...I just uploaded your image of Riley, and it automatically sizes it for you, even avatar size...idiot proof!(lucky for me) Flickr has lots of cool features, much more useful than photobucket. |
