since the WPS is suspended for 2012, can the name of this forum simply be changed to "WOMEN'S SOCCER".

I would be down for an 'Other Women's Sports' Board... Not sure soccer merits it's own section.

Women's Soccer would be just fine--we still have the WPSL and the W-League. The WLS is sketchy with very little info.

Or eliminate the forum entirely since the amount of actual conversation in this forum doesn't really warrant a separate forum. |

I would support converting this to a generic "women's soccer" forum. Would rather it not get melded in with volleyball and golf, personally.

But then you have volleyball fans (like myself) who don't care about soccer.
It's hard to pleas everyone, you know.

I'm for a folder for each. Soccer is the most popular/most played, so definitely a folder for it, and then volleyball, tennis, golf, etc.
And please, only if absolutely necessary/last resort, use the "other" sports folder, that's soooo espn and fox sports!!!

Respect whatever you decide to do with the other women's sports.
This particular forum has a flavor of something missing and usually not tolerated for long on WNBA or NCAA forums. It periodically attempts to address the deep cultural and political influences that remain women's sports main adversaries. Pilot again and again attempts to initiate conversation on these issues by his topic links but most people don't nibble.
These are overwhelming antagonostic forces embedded in U.S. institutions, history, and most people.
This is not an advocacy blog, but Pilot reminds anyone stumbling on this folder of the monumental obstacles blocking the growth of women's athletics on a national scale.

maybe now that a new soccer league is starting in 2013, we can have separate folders for soccer(pro league + international games/tournaments), volleyball/softball/etc.

If the amount of traffic justifies splitting them into their own folders then yeah, sure. We'll see...
