"I want to coach in the NBA, yes," Laimbeer said.

But when asked if he would want to join forces with Isiah again, Laimbeer took the diplomatic approach rather than outwardly campaign for the job.

By the way, a couple of New York-area papers have tossed around another Detroit name as a possible replacement for Knicks coach Herb Williams: Shock coach Bill Laimbeer, because of his Isiah connection.

But it doesn't sound like Laimbeer thinks that's going to happen, not with his short resume.

"I don't envy Isiah's job as leading arguably the biggest media team there is," he told the Newark Star-Ledger. "The safe way to go is probably to go with someone who is very experienced and seasoned, if only to keep you guys off his butt."

...from the Detroit Free Press

Could Larry Brown have campaigned more openly this weekend for the job?

Even Dickie V. this morning was commenting on it on ESPN Radio.

whatever isiah is going to do, he better do it fast. i actually fell asleep at the knicks/clippers game friday. FELL ASLEEP. and we even won.

our offense may have been what killed us against detroit saturday, but our defense is crap and we suck in transition. must be something in the water in new york...

You fell asleep and dreamt we were playing the Clippers, because we actually played the Cavs lol...sans LeBron, that's why we won.
The Knicks are mediocre at best, they are way over their heads with the cap (highest payroll in the league) and they won't ever consider rebuilding through the draft. You can't win in a situation like that, unless you're spending your money wisely, which is not the case there.

Ha, the Knicks didn't know, by bringing homeboy Steph in the fold they brought in the Playoff killer.

Put him on your roster & your almost asured of missing out on the playoffs or at best out in the 1st round Laughing

see how horible the game was? i couldn't even remember who we played Wink also, the trauma of the clippers game was still with me. how fucking embarassing!

i agree about marbury. the guy just pisses me off 18 different ways... and it's not just about the stupid azz comments during the olympics about the women having to rely on team play because the don't have the skills or strength to go it alone. i don't like the me-first, rest-of-the-team-last attitude. i'm not impressed with the way he distributes the ball. he dribbles into traps almost as much as becky hammon, and his leadership skills are just as bad. defense? what's that. i would rather see brewer on the floor than marbury.

It's that time of the year. I knew you would be back. Why did you diss us?

Did not "diss" you. Change of location and format did not thrill me at that time. In addition, had my hands full trying to get team to listen.
They know now.
