Just in case you ever entertained a thought that the dot.com has clue, you can just let that go. Apparently Matee Ajavon is the Mystics Point Guard who will be looking for POST players to set up to STRETCH the defense with their 3 pt shooting!!!!

From the dot.com to Trudi's white board, this team is skeerewed.

My favorite part of the preview is the "recent draft history" at the bottom, where they list the Mystics 2011 picks, then the 2010 and 2009 Liberty drafts all under labels that read "2011".

I was wondering about that. I thought for a minute that I just didn't remember those draft picks. At all!!

Silly me. When it is you or the .com, always pick yourself. Laughing Laughing

Do they think no one reads the articles?

They ought to hire some ex-WBB players with communications degrees, maybe they would have a clue. Rolling Eyes

Is this any more shocking than calling Riquna Williams a point guard?

Pretty much because Gaines calls her one too and thinks she fits better with the mercury then Prahalis but thats probably a bluf

Wait, where does he say this, and are you sure you aren't confusing Riquna Williams with C'eira Ricketts?

Welcome to Trudi-ball! Laughing

They can't be worse than last year, so sign TL up to a contract extension!

If she lands Delle Donne for the Mystics, you'll be wanting to throw a parade for her Wink

I think what the .com did was hire someone who does not follow the women's game. He probably looked that last year's Mystics stat sheet and saw that Ajavon had more assists (3.1) than either Miller (2.8 ) or Thomas (1.8 ) and jumped to the PG conclusion. Similarly, he is calling Williams a PG because other sites are erroneously labeling her that.

Um..the Styx are running - hard - for the BG sweepstakes. I predict BG on the Trudi-led Styx would be the equivalent of BG's college frosh year and she would stay at that level as long as Trudi's in charge. BG would likely lead the Styx to the play-offs and first round exit, thus depriving the team of any future lottery picks and maintaining them as the laughing stocks of the league for years to come.

By the way, I think the flip side of Trudi's white board read "the road to Brittney Griner."

Hard to imagine Trudi getting another year if the Mystics are Griner-bait.

Ahem. The lack of transition of the BC blog to the WNBA season is speaking volumes. The silence is deafening. I do trust you two to again strike that fine line between "cheering while retreating" and outright Kathy Griffin style "life in the D-league." And yes, I am campaigning for another offer of a free drink next season.

Mystics fans are sadly accustomed to 'enduring the unimaginable."

You can't seriously be having a hard time seeing the Styx stuck to the bottom of the league, sort of like a toddler with a full load getting stuck midway down the slide.

I can easily see the Mystics at the bottom of the league. I can't see them continuing with Lacey if that happens.

It's been one long, seemingly endless crap so far. Once she started, she just hasn't stopped.

After dumping most all the contributing veterans to rebuild with youth, the two headed monster dumped the youth to rebuild with veterans nobody else wanted.

Who could the Sheila get that would be willing to put up with her? And I expect the phone booth will be again echoing with lack of butts in seats.

I wonder if there's a possibility of getting both Griner and Delle Donne, as Elena may only want to be close to home, and WAS is the team closest to Delaware.. If that's the case, Mystic fans should throw her a parade... then follow that up with calls to get a new coach. Or, WAS could follow in the steps of the NBA's '02-03 Cavaliers and fire the coach mid-season to cause even more chaos and more losses..
Idea

Well, waiting until mid-season 2013 to fire Trudi would fit with both Styx history and modus operandi of the Sheila, to wit: make a bad hire, let them stay way, way past the point of mediocrity and then, top it off with the chaos of a mid-season firing.
