Those who have first hand knowledge have been quoted in this thread, and it was certainly no secret back in the day. However, Clive Davis DID NOT want Whitney with a woman. He actually wanted her to marry a white man. He was very calculated when it came to Whitney's image.

This is a long thread and things are easy to miss. But all I've read are some second hand insinuations. Which posts had first hand accounts (i.e., someone who was actually intimate with or witnessed intimacy)?

The Black community hates gay people more than they hate the Ku Klux Klan.

No Black artist will ever become successful as Ellen or Rosie if they live their truth openly.

These statements are the gospel truth! Its sad for our people and stars. Every time I look at Elton John MORE celebrated now than ever before living his life and enjoying it, I shake my head for Luther. It's a shame that our people will never know that level of success because of their heard being rammed up in the bible or should say that horrid European or should I say the U-rope-eans interpretation of it as well as their own self-hatred and ignorance. Some of our greatest creative people have been gay and we still choose to now see it and acknowledge it.

We will never have a black Ellen, Rosie or Elton. Do you see how these people's sexuality rarely comes up anymore? When they are discussed its just about whatever the hell they are doing. An Ellen is HUGE! Recent poll is saying she's has the potential to become as huge as Oprah and that people think she's more friendlier. Not debating that, just focusing on the observation that no one thinks or judges her on her sexuality. She gets to live and contribute to society openly and in peace. Openness about anything means better health and denial about anything creates damaging mental health which cause you to act out erratically (Whitney). Can you imagine living life and having to deny the essence of who you are? Being in love but NOT being able to openly love who you love because of fear of other humans?

Really? Never heard of RuPaul?

Wanda Sykes is black and an open lesbian, and she once had a talk-show.

Johnny Mathis is black and openly gay, though he never seemed to flaunt it.

And didn't former New York Liberty player Loree Moore had a same-sex wedding two or three years ago?

I think genero might be refering to their "star status" in the entertainment industry but, I could be wrong...

Mathis isn't a star? RuPaul may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he certainly is a gay icon.

Wanda might not be a A-list "star", but she's enough of a show-biz figure to get work.

Okay, there's only an inference there. Other than "holding hands" and what the writer describes as "sweet and romatic" shows of affection (again, just perception). Other than his/her specualtion there's nothing definitive. People can "see" what they want to see. People have been saying similar things about Oprah and Gayle for years. Has anyone every quoted Robyn Crawford (or any other woman) on her relationship with Houston?

Wanda Sykes ain't doing too badly. Ellen faced an immediate backlash, but has recovered from that very successfully - Sykes is probably going through a similar period. I do think a male would have a much harder time, though.

Rosie is just a mean spirited, hateful bitch regardless of her sexuality. I personally don't find her the least bit entertaining (love Ellen and Wanda).

She also said that Houston's family would release a statement to the media shortly.

I believe her. This has Whitney's sister in-law (Pat) written all over it. She gave people bad vibes at the funeral. I felt she spoke insensitively in front of Whitney's family and friends. She said Whitney gained weight and went into Whitney's drug past. As true as those things may be, as her sister in-law and someone who loved her, it wasn't the proper place to speak about it. Then she started praising Clive Davis and all these people in the industry.

The respected owner of Whitney Houston's funeral home said Friday she's "devastated" a photo of the singer in her open casket appeared on the cover of the National Enquirer.

Carolyn Whigham wants fans to know her family-run business did not sell the now notorious image and that she's “horrified” by accusations her close-knit staff is to blame, she told the Daily News.

“We did not take that photo. We did not sell the photo. We would never do something like that,” the second-generation CEO of the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, N.J., said.

“Whitney was a friend,” she continued. “I’m the one who flew to Los Angeles and got Whitney from the coroner’s office. I did everything to protect her.”

She said a deluge of distressing emails from irate Houston fans now has her fearing for her staff’s safety.

“One email said that if the person owned a dog, and the dog died, they would not come to my funeral home,” she said with sadness. “I’m worried about my employees, worried about me. I’ve been in business since 1943. This is my name, my character. Honestly, this is my life’s work. We would never do something like this.”

She said Houston’s family has made it clear they do not blame her business.

“I am very confident they are on the same page with me. Family friend Tyler Perry was on the Steve Harvey (radio) show this morning, and he said emphatically he knows we did not do it,” she told The News.

She said security was with Houston the entire time her body was at the funeral home.

“They were there 24 hours a day. They slept there with her. She was never alone, anywhere,” Whigham said. “The only time security fell back was when the family had the private viewing Friday. We weren’t involved with that. The family invited its own guests.”

Houston, 48, died in a Beverly Hills hotel suite just hours before her mentor, Clive Davis, held his annual pre-Grammys party Feb. 11.

Police said she was found submerged in a bathtub. A coroner spokesman said multiple bottles of prescription medication were recovered from her room, but the cause of her death is pending on toxicology tests that could take weeks.

The shocking National Enquirer cover photo shows Houston lying in a half-opened casket wearing a deep purple dress, a sparkling brooch on her chest and what appears to be diamond earrings.

Whigham disputed the supermarket tabloid's claim that Houston was buried with $500,000 worth of precious stones.

“That’s crazy. It’s not true,” she told The News.

I believe her to. Did you notice that when Pat got up to speak, Cissy got up and walked away, escorted by someone? It was strange because Pat addressed Cissy as if she was still sitting there. "Cissy you did the best you could. You can't help someone who doesn't want help." I was thinking wtf since Cissy was gone.

I saw Cissy leave as well. Maybe she didn't want to hear what Pat had to say. As far as the picture-if security was with the body 24/7 except for the family private viewing, they did to find out who was in there alone with the body. If the pic is indeed of Whitney then whoever did it is a low down skank!

Tyler Perry believes that it was someone from Whitney's camp as well. Here is a link to where the audio can be found of him speaking about it.

Avant-garde musician and artist Diamanda Galas rips into industry giant Clive Davis for pushing Whitney Houston to perform.

Californian experimental music icon Diamanda Galas has posted a scathing critique of the motivations of svengali Clive Davis for pushing Whitney to get back on stage before she had conquered her addictions.

Galas posted a screed on Facebook accusing 'colossal pig' Davis of shamelessly exploiting the late singer as a carnival sideshow.

Her Facebook post:
'I mourn the death of Whitney Houston, whom I adored. Her incomparable voice, which influenced almost every R&B and pop singer worldwide, her stage presence, which no one can touch, and her beauty, tough and sweet, moved me. Whitney . Whitney . was put back onstage before she was ready to perform ' by the colossal pig Clive Davis ' who continued his party in the same hotel where she died and where her body still lay. Heresy.

Whitney should have been allowed to study for a minimum of two years with a voice therapist/teacher before even rehearsing, let alone performing, onstage. It is a gigantic jump to go from not performing to performing ' and a much larger one to go from not performing and living a life without discipline, the leisure life, in particular, to performing.

What was she put onstage as? A lesson that 'drugs kill'? 'Hey wanna see a crack ho sing?' Courtesy of Clive Davis.

'Wow, man, that will be some freaky shit, right?' 'You bet, man.'

Great. Now Mr. Davis will be able to package her death in frills and sell it big time ' even during the nadir of record sales. (Sony and iTunes have already begun selling the back catalogue at exceedingly high prices, hours after her death, possibly minutes). And Clive and Sony will say, 'Even though we do not hope to even break even with this uncompromising tribute to Whitney Houston, we feel, personally, that it is her due, as the foremost singer ever on our labels, and as lovely girl she always was to us.' Etc, etc, puke puke puke.

Mr. Davis thought nothing of keeping her up onstage while she received humiliating reviews and she represented DOPEFIEND LOSER of THE WAR ON DRUGS. He probably said, 'Ignore those jealous fools, dear; the more you sing, the more you'll begin to really sing.' Pure entertainment for the folks that know better.

And the press will make more correlations between death days and birthdays and dead dopefiend performers and pour more gasoline on her body. Another party where she was close by but unreachable.

I feel deep sorrow for Whitney. I feel no sorrow for anyone else other than her family and those who still loved her.

And a deep loathing for those who ran her into the ground. Sure, one was Bobby Brown, but he is a common idiot.

The bigger picture?

Think a minute.'

Funeral home denies role in Houston casket photo

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- The owner of the Newark, N.J., funeral home that handled services for Whitney Houston says the home had nothing to do with a photograph that surfaced showing the singer's body in an open casket.

But Carolyn Whigham of Whigham Funeral Home and two pastors say they do know who took the photo that ran in the National Enquirer. They just aren't identifying the person and say that's up to the Houston family.

Carolyn Whigham said somebody spit in her face thinking she leaked that picture of Whitney in her casket. She's upset with the Houstons. It's not right they left her out to dry like that. Now she has to defend her character. If I was her, I'd tell who it was that took the picture.

She looks so beautiful. All the rest that can be said is simply participation in the circus.

Looks like Ms Wingham is upset with the Houstons. If Ms Wingham and 2 of her pastors know who took the photo, and they told the Houstons why haven't the Houstons said anything. Ms Wingham says Nippy Inc security was with the body at all times, even sleeping in her building. If that was the case how did ANYONE have access to take that pic???. Someone had to take it when noone else was around. If Ms Wingham knows who took the pic why doesn't she just put it out there and be done with it.

Just because she’s moved to cable doesn’t mean Oprah Winfrey can’t still land a huge interview. The former queen of talk has booked Whitney Houston’s family for an exclusive sit down on OWN.

Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, her sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston and her brother Gary Houston will participate in a one-hour special episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter. They’ll discuss the rumors and speculation surrounding the pop star’s death. The episode airs Sunday, March 11 at 9 p.m.

Pat and Gary Houston disgust me. I saw her speech of shout outs at the funeral...and I knew some bullshit was afoot. SIDE EYE. And they are the main suspects in the poisoning BK against her father. Just ridiculous. That girl is not in a space right not to be interviewing with Oprah. Her mother isn't even cold in the ground.

I'll definately be tuning in...

On a side note...If I being accused of leaking Whitney's photo, I'll for a fact would tell who did if I knew who leaked it...Get that monkey off my back!

Leave it up to the family to say who did it, might not ever get done and especially it was a family member...

IMO, the Whigham's need to fess up if they don't want to be looked at side ways forever...Just my take.

Houston's family obviously see her death as a way to cash in a bit. They just love all this free publicity. I wonder if Bobbi will be bringing her bag of cocaine to the interview. I heard she doesn't leave home without it. Like mother like daughter I guess.
