Harvey Araton's column in today's New York Times is a must-read (registration required). It ends:

In a way, Gunter was heard just last week, when Chatman, while trying to contact her relatives, called Gunter's house, discovered nobody home but had her breath taken away by the sound of a familiar voice on the answering machine.

"Hi, this is Coach Gunter; please leave a message."

Chatman heard one instead.

"You know what?" she said. "Her voice was all I needed to keep me going."

Nice find carol. Very nice read. Best of luck to Pokey & her players this season (except against the Gophers just a little less luck Cool )

Thanks, MNfan22. Credit should also go to Women's Basketball On-line, without which I'd be spending hours on Google News!

Sometimes I want BOTH teams to win, as I will when Baylor plays LSU on January 30, 2006. (But then, I had no trouble rooting for Baylor to beat LSU in the 2005 Final Four!)
