Does anyone think Laimbeer might go post/post at 5 and 7? Bone and Young or Bone and Hawkins and wait until #15 for a guard wing player.
Someone like Mathies, Bentley, Clarendon, Rodgers, Walker, Smith or Jeffereys is going to be there at 15.
If we keep Mitchell, Pondexter, Carson, Montgomery and Smith, and he plays Pierson some at the 3 and Nolan shows up next year we could probably afford to go post/post this draft. |
I thought the same thing.
If Bone goes #5, and Seattle takes Faris. He could get Hawkins at #7 and then draft a guard later on with his other several picks.
If Hawkins goes #6, then maybe he takes Toni Young or a guard in this scenario.

Probably not. Historically, most teams with two first round picks split them one front court & one back court unless they're drafting a foreign player who's not expected to show up immediately or one of the picks is going to be traded shortly after the draft.

I like the New York picks of Bone and Hawkins.

Pondexter/Mitchell
Carson/Smith/(#15)
Pierson/Montgomery
Ford/(Hawkins or Young)
Braxton/Bone
I still think it could be a risk playing Pierson at the 3 but you can slide her back and forth based on match ups, pick up a decent guard/wing at #15 this could be an interesting team.

Anybody have any ideas on what team will make the first "WTF" selection? What round?

I am interested to see who makes that "WHAT?" pick, or even if we get one this year. |
Don't worry, it'll happen. Always does.._________________

OK My Last Mock Draft
1 PHOENIX- Brittney Griner
2 CHICAGO - Elena Delle Donne
3 TULSA - Skylar Diggins
4 WASHINGTON - Tayler Hill
5 NEW YORK - Kelsey Bone
6 SEATTLE -Tianna Hawkins
7 NEW YORK - Sugar Rodgers
8 SAN ANTONIO - Toni Young (Wouldn't be surprised to see Alexander here)
9 INDIANA - Kelly Faris
10 LOS ANGELES - A'dia Mathies (I hope Sugar falls here, wouldn't be surprised if Penny disappoints me, lol, hope not though.)
11 CONNECTICUT - Kayla Alexander
12 MINNESOTA - Lindsey Moore
13 ATL - A. Bentley (I've been going back and forth between Bentley and Goodrich, but I think Fred will rank her higher because of her defense! We'll see. He might surprise us too. I can see Clarendon here as well)
14 MIN - C. Davis
15 NY - K. Williams (Still going with my gut, but I can see Clarendon here)
16 SA - S. Smith (Goodrich or Clarendon maybe, but they also have DRob, Becky, Johnson and Perkins so maybe a back up 3 for Christon or Goodrich for DRob)
17 WAS - L. Clarendon (Finally, I really don't think she's going to fall this far, lol. I think Bentley will get the Pointer-Blackmon award even though I have her at #13 lol)
18 SEA - N. McKenith
19 WAS - M. Walker
20 SAN - D. Williams
21 IND - A. Martin
22 LA - C. Jefferey
23 CON - J. Hassell
24 MIN - A. Brewer
25 WAS - C. Poppens
26 PHO - J. James
27 TUL - W. Rolle
28 CHI - A. Clarke
29 WAS - T. Spani
30 SEA - M. Oliver
31 ATL - J. Madden
32 SA - J. Tinkle
33 IND - D. Mingo
34 LA - B. Pope
35 CON - K. Penn
36 MINN - T. Caldwell

Just don't see NY taking Rodgers at 7. Maybe it would make more sense to go post-post than to do that.

I would much rather Sugar's "high volume shooter" label follow her until the draft reaches selection #10. Then, hopefully, Carol & Penny see a valuable role player in Sugar or Layshia Clarendon or A'dia Mathies. Sugar's greater height would allow her to swing between SG & SF. Layshia and A'dia is strictly SG's although they might moonlight at the point every now & then.
