Two of ESPN's four experts have Diggins going #2 Shocked

Lovell has the most sensible draft of the bunch, and I've never even heard of him.
Smith must have used a dartboard for her draft.
Vopel has Moore going to the Liberty? Laughing Peck probably could've made a better draft than this. She's the one that thought that Delle Donne might be the best choice for Phoenix.

Most of the drafts I've seen here make more sense than most of of these.

3 have Moore falling to the second round, 2 have Rodgers going 2nd round. 3 have Faris falling to 11.

ok, this is probably my final guess...

1. Phoenix - B. Griner
2. Chicago - E. Delle Donne
3. Tulsa - S. Diggins
4. Washington - K. Bone
5. New York - T. Hawkins
6. Seattle - K. Alexander
7. New York - T. Hill
8. San Antonio - T. Young
9. Indiana - C. Davis
10. Los Angeles - K. Faris
11. Connecticut A. Mathies
12. Minnesota - A. Bentley

13. Atlanta - L. Moore
14. Minnesota D. Wilson
15. New York - S. Rodgers
16. San Antonio - L. Clarendon
17. Washington S. Smith
18. Seattle Storm C. Jeffrey
19. Washington Mystics A. Goodrich
20. San Antonio Silver Stars K. Penn
21. Indiana Fever - A. Martin
22. Los Angeles Sparks M. Walker
23. Connecticut Sun C. Poppens
24. Minnesota Lynx N. McKenith
3rd round in no particular order: B.Chambers; J.James; W. Rolle; A. Ritchie; K. Williams; H. Steed; Godbolt; H. Mershon; B.Alverson; C.Hopkins

Am thinking Tulsa may give Rolle a good look at #29 assuming she isn't taken earlier.

Luv those Liberty Picks Laughing Laughing Laughing

BTW - notice that 3 coaches that went for "potential" and ignored Hayes last year all got fired - Whiz (Cain), Thibault (Dabo) and Trudi (Barrett, Novasel.

If Alexander falls that far, I hope the Dream pick her over Bentley. We don't really need her, but she'd be the best of the rest.

Oooh, I think I've posted that a few times haven't I? "Potential gets you fired."

So, we're saying three coaches got fired for not drafting a backup guard who shot 39% from the field and 30% beyond five feet?

Why didn't Thibault go for Hayes last year if he's a UConn junkie?

If you can read Thibault's mind, you're a better person than I.
I like K. Alexander. She could go earlier than I guessed.

Not sure I would want to. Smile

I guess not. I didn't realize she was that bad. But looks like you hit on the reason MM got fired.

I thought she played better down the stretch, especially when McCoughtry wasn't with the team. Maybe some other Dream fans can attest to this because it seems she started very slow to begin the season.

Diggins at #2 isn't nearly the stretch that some of the later predictions make - Clarendon to SASS for instance . Shocked First, she's not the third best guard in this draft and second, why the heck would SASS pick her when they already have DRob, Perkins, Hammon, and Johnson at guard and have gaping holes at forward?

Actually, she did. I'm not really knocking Hayes. I just think sometimes people on this board give her and Riquana Williams a little too much credit. They exceeded expectations, but it's not like every GM made a major bad decision by not taking them. Some of those GMs didn't need a guard. Others weren't sure if they'd fit the team's system. I think Hayes benefited from ending up on the right team with the right system. Good for her and good for Atlanta, but it doesn't mean everyone else screwed-up.

I'm starting to warm to the fact Skylar in Chicago and EDD in Tulsa could be ok for the league.

Skylar is from South Bend, so she would be a hit in Chitown, and EDD by herself could make the Shock worth watching and putting on TV. Shock could handle the loss of the 6-11 drama queen perfectly by getting EDD.

Bottom line is, I don't think there is a bad outcome. I think the W could very much benefit, either way.

Plus I know a lot of Sky fans won't be happy with the suggested outcome.

Trade idea

#4 and #17 to Conn

For Kara Lawson and Kalana Greene

or #4 and #17 for Lawson and #11

Donavan can draft a post at #4 and a back up to new starting PG Montgomery at #17

and Thiabault gets some of his old players back and a quality PG to help his transition in Washington. good idea/bad idea? If lopsided which way?

Opinion poll.

Just curious what the board thinks.

You are the GM of your team (and when I say your team I don't mean the team you root for, but the imaginary team that you are the GM of, I want the poll to be as objective as possible), please rank these players in the order you would pick them. 1. being the player you would pick if all were available, 2 being the player you would pick if all but the player you picked at 1 were available and so on down the line.

Bentley, Clarendon, Faris, Mathies, Rodgers.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Enjoyable read. His second round picks are very creative. I disagree with many but still fun to see. Greene is more than 'green' - I think overseas for a couple of years may make her usable but who knows. And don't think Big Bill will take another small PG. I think he could take K. Williams there if he wants a PG. Very interesting that Corwin has Moore dropping that far. While I'm not nearly so hot on her as many on here, I don't think she goes that far down.

Can't wait for it all to happen, then we can chew and re-chew...
