Quote:
The Caitlin Clark experience delivered another television milestone as ESPN's coverage of the WNBA draft on Monday night averaged a record 2.45 million viewers.

The audience was more than four times as many viewers when compared to the 2023 draft, which drew 572,000. The previous draft record was 601,000 in 2004, when UConn's Diana Taurasi went No. 1 overall.

Even apart from the Clark hype, this was a fantastic telecast. The league really stuck the landing on this one. It felt important, the analysis was fun, the fashion highlights were smart, and the entire show felt like a massive step up from year’s past.

Kudos to the abc/espn team for having cameras everywhere. All access. Made that one BAM venue seem bigger than it really is.

Yeah, this is the first time I have watched a WNBA draft and felt that it was smart, professional, fun, and worth the time to watch. Kudos to the W for rising with the tide!

Apparently courtside seats for the Fever cost double of court side seats to the Pacers playoff games. Shocked

Highlight of the show: Holly wasn’t frantically running from Table to table trying to connect with the players’ families.
