Game time is 2:00 EST with the pre-game starting at 1:00 on ESPN.

So who wins. Honestly, Japan or USA.

The USA, but I'm voting with my heart. The US definitely has the game to win it but so does Japan. I would be happy for Japan if they win it, but I desperately want the US to win, lol. Either way, it's been a great tournament to watch!

just a note -- I believe the pre-game at 1 pm is on ESPN2 then the coverage switches to ESPN at 2 pm with the teams taking the field at 2:45 pm.

Plenty of US shots, but they're all a bit off. This will be a tough one to watch.

US certainly has had many good attempts but nothing going in. I'm going to switch and watch NY. I hope the US can pull this off as hard as they have been playing.

Let's go USA!

That's horrible timing for the US to score a goal after a terrible offside call that took away a breakaway for Japan.

So sad the USA loss Sad Do they not have another goalie, Hope seemed to be somewhat hurt. I tell you watching that was a nail biter and I thought watching close wnba games was tough. Things just didn't go well for the US. If they had made half of those close goals in the early part of the game they would have won. My heart goes out to the USA players who wanted it so bad.

Sad about the loss. Still proud of the ladies of the USA team. Congrats to Japan. That country needed this win.

Congrats, Japan. So sad though. Alex Morgan was on fire. Who knows if she coulda scored when she got fouled. Questionable move with Tobin Heath, and I just knew Boxx wouldn't make her PK.

I agree with this. I was afraid the US squandered too many chances right at the beginning of the game missing so many goals.

Us coach did terrible job with a 2-1 lead. Just giving Japan chances to tie. Brilliant. Now they are jokers coming home.

When is the Usa gonna get a coach who knows what he/she is doing?

Even before the PK's, she was nowhere to be found. The Japan coach was in his teams huddle, focusing his players.

Japan's goal to tie it at 1-1 was a big disaster.

Now I don't know much at all about soccer, but is it customary to try to clear the ball from in front of the goal by kicking it away STILL IN FRONT OF THE NET?

Wouldn't it make more sense to try and kick it to either side away from dead center on goal?

Disappointed USA lost, but if anyone was to beat them, I'm glad it was Japan. This was a team that didn't think they'd be able to regroup after the earthquake and could of failed to make it out of the group stage. A truely wonderful story and very good news for the country of Japan.
