| So I've been seeing people on line complaining about the officiating. Has it been so bad that it's cost the US the game? Or is it just bad in general without having any bearing on the US?

I think part of it is the refs.

FIFA needs to look at some of the crap that goes on in the game. They need to insert stiffer penalties for the kind of crap Brazil is doing (and all teams do) with the players going down.
You go down, whether you're hurt or not, you go off for at least a minute or more. The bigger the game, the more time you go off.

Both Brazil goals were legal. There was encroaching in the penalty, so it was retaken and #6 kept Brazil onside on Marta's goal, check CBC replay. Fox Soccer also showed both, so even though the officiating was awful, they did not interfere in the result.
Gutsy win for the US.
