Wow, you don't see this every day. A qualifier, Jenna Pearson was tied for the lead early in the 1st round at 4 under par with two holes to play.
All I can find on this girl is that she was a good junior player, second tier, played at South Carolina in college, her best finish looks to be a quarter finalist at the Women's Public links the year Wie won it.
She had three years on the futures tour, not great, ending in 2009.
Talk about playing out of your comfort zone! I'd like to see her finish this round with a good score.

65 or 66 is a typical number for the lead here. So she won't get there. But still very impressive showing for such an inexperienced player.
If she's lucky she will finish this round and avoid the press room just under the radar. That way she might just get far enough to pick up a check. |
