Connecticut Sun coach Mike Thibault thinks it's hogwash.

Shock coach Bill Laimbeer doesn't like to talk about it.

But Shock players and front-office personnel have acknowledged the rivalry between the Shock and Sun, the role the coaches play in it, how it has evolved and what fuels it.

"I think it adds more fuel," Nolan said. "I don't know what Bill does to him or what he does to Bill, but there always seems to be some animosity between them, especially after our last home game against them. That kind of stirred up stuff. It kind of motivates us ... to go out there and kick their tail."

Thibault recalled a conversation he had with Laimbeer before the 2003 season, one in which the coaches discussed the blueprint for success. The Shock had finished last in 2002.

"Basically he said if you don't like what you have, then you need to blow it up and have it be the style that you need it to be," Thibault said.

That might have been the most civil conversation between them.

When asked what he remembered from that conversation, Laimbeer didn't have much to say.

"Don't talk to me about that," Laimbeer said. "Talk to him about that. That's his business."

I think Keira said it best to you Admiral...

Fuck off Jerk wad!!!

It's about the players and a great series. Don't belittle them or the fans with your bullshit it's about the coaches feuding. Even the coaches have said it's about the players not them.

"We have such entertaining characters on the sideline, so it's always good for TV," Shock forward Barbara Farris said. "It never hurts. But the basketball is great, too."

Barb Farris really needs to step up in this game... Rebounding will be key Idea
