Mexico beat the US 2x1 for World Cup qualifying. US were previously undefeated in WC qualifying, winning by a combined 131-3 score. Yikes.
Now they must beat Costa Rica and win a home-and-home playoff against Italy in order to qualify.

Yes, this is the biggest upset in Women's Soccer historyand it's right next to the US Men defeating England in the World Cup 1-0.

yeah, it's pretty big. Sportscenter even covered the story. The game is on ESPN2 tonight at 6pm, yet the championship match(Canada vs. Mexico) isn't.

Yeah I kinda expected the championship match not to be televised. I doubt the U.S.-Italy matches will either, unless the U.S. loses the first leg.

Networks don't really go for matches like these and don't seem to care about world cup qualifiers or confederation championships if it doesn't include the United States--especially the women's team.

That being said, very few if any of the men's world cup qualifiers were televised either, and I don't think any of the ones that were, were games that didn't involve the USMNT.
