Some things are just better left forgotten. Nuns with hit records being one of them. And that wasn't the first. But I'm going to practice what I preach. Cool

I have to say that I never heard of that song before, but here goes...

I hope you don't mind that I change the time-frame a little bit today. Instead of a 70's song, here's one from 1986, in the wake of the brief fad of sports teams making rap records (which got started from the Chicago Bears Shuffling Crew). However, this was too cheesy and embarrassing to pass this up...

A "tribute" (of sorts) to one of the most successful and schmaltzy singer/songwriters of the 1970's...

Besides, I never heard of any other song that uses the word "yucky" as part of the lyrics! Cool

Sorry that I'm a day late, but I figure you wouldn't mind much!

Here's one from 1970, led by a 3rd Grade Schoolteacher and her class in Mill Valley, California.

The teacher, Rita Abrams, is now a professional songwriter in her own right.

Oh no! I found this in my parents' record collection, a 45 inch single, when I was a kid. It always freaked me out as a child. That and Spoonful by Cream for some reason just creeped me out.

Yes, this was an actual hit record...

The 70's R&B equivalent of Dickie Goodman's "break-in" records. That is, using clips of actual songs to replace what was supposed spoken dialogue.

With Election Day coming up soon, here's one from the 1972 Presidential campaign season. It's more of a comedy-novelty recording, instead of a song (even though snippets of actual songs are used).

"Convention '72" by The Delegates:

Sorry that I'm a day late, but here is a cheesy song from the disco era (late-1970's), and from an unlikely future rock star:

"Let Me Take You Dancing" by Bryan Adams, who was 19 at the time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPHsDr-XLww

A&M Records took the song that was originally meant to be a pop song, but took the master recording and "discofied" it by speeding up the tempo, without Bryan's permission. Given the recording technology at the time, there was no way to normalize his vocals with the speeded-up song. As a result, Bryan's voice sounded like Minnie Mouse. Wink

Not sure exactly what year this naughty double-entendre ditty came out, but I have a good feeling it's from the 70's.

Not only is this song cheesy, but it even helped the group get a short-lived music-variety show on NBC even though they hardly spoke English!

Although this song came out in 1974, I can't help but to think of the more recent David Petraeus affair-scandal after I heard this song! Razz

For some reason, this song drove me crazy when I heard it on the radio. Nowadays, it seems hard to believe this actually won the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest...but then again, it is The Eurovision! Mad
