Good luck.... those 'fans' wouldn't even want to lose to improve draft position back in 2003, when they were trying to get Taurasi! Shocked

I don't blame them, though. Giving up on a season doesn't sit well with me. Does management still expect fans to show up in that situation? It's a little unfair on them after all, knowing that a team isn't doing everything possible to win for them.

In our case there's a second factor as well - the unplayed rookies.
Maybe it's just Carrie's normal M.O. with rookies or maybe it is her way this season of doing everything possible to prevent losses, but either way there are 3 pretty promising players (Irvin, Williams & Snell) who have not been given a reasonable opportunity to show their stuff. Before next year I'd like to see what they can do in a game.

It might be a good idea to play Snell a little bit now that Diana can't come in. She scored 11 points in one game (early, before Penny came back) Give her a chance, at this point the Mercury don't have much to lose...

That's the same thing that can get a Charlotte coach crucified. Have to think that with Stepanova leaving, a little more experience for Irvin would have only helped.

Diana's coming..I would bet that she gets another foul before the half..

Since when does Katie miss both free throws?

Last year there were three rookies on the Merc roster. Taurasi played quite a bit, Robinson & Wright played very little.

I think it is a secret requirement of team to let the other team back in the game at halftime to make it more exciting. LOL

You got it wrong. It's more like "we'll let the other team have a headstart so we can mount a glorious comeback win".

Yeah, the Lib is pretty good at that...at least that's what they did in the last 3 games (erase 2-digit advantages).

It's surprising that Phx has kept it as close as it is at halftime. Maybe DT, PT, & KV can stick around for awhile the second half and lead Phx to an important win. At the half they have combined for 4 rebounds, 5 points, and 7 fouls.

The stats are giving this game a weird look. Shock dominating the glass but only up by a few. Tweetie not looking like she's on and the same with PT and KV but Mercs still right in it. Confused

That's not good, I don't think the Mercury can get a win with Diana not scoring..

I wouldn't have thought so either, Mercfan, and yet we're hanging right in there.
Not scoring, but still getting stats in other columns Rolling Eyes

Yeah...like turnovers & fouls!!

Actually, she does have 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, and 1 assist...that's not bad (I just wish there were double-digit points involved as well).

crap...You know, I'd really love to see these games to see if she really is fouling..although with June reffing, and apparently another ref comforting Diana..that can't mean June's been too good..Diana better not do anything except take wide open threes..

LOL, at least there is another Uconn player for June to take out her frustration on..
