There are now sixteen players that have played for four different teams. None have played for five. Which one do you think will be the first to play for a 5th team?

Adia Barnes Sacramento, Minnesota, Cleveland, Seattle
Grace Daley Minnesota, New York, Houston, Phoenix
La’Keshia Frett Los Angeles, Sacramento, Charlotte, New York
Katryna Gaither Utah, Indiana, Los Angeles, Washington
Gordana Grubin Los Angeles, Indiana, Phoenix, Houston
Sonja Henning Houston, Seattle, Washington, Indiana
Tamicha Jackson Detroit, Portland, Phoenix, Washington
Pollyana Johns-Kimbrough Charlotte, Cleveland, Miami, Houston
Betty Lennox Minnesota, Miami, Cleveland, Seattle
Tamara Moore Minnesota, Miami, Detroit, Phoenix
Vanessa Nygaard Cleveland, Portland, Miami, Los Angeles
Sheri Sam Orlando, Miami, Minnesota, Seattle
Alessandra Santos de Oliveira Washington, New York, Indiana, Seattle
Olympia Scott-Richardson Utah, Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte
Kate Starbird Sacramento, Utah, Seattle, Indiana
Rita Williams Washington, Indiana, Houston, Seattle

NOTE: I did not count preseason games, only games that count.

It looks like Sam might be on the move again. I can't see Grubin hanging on in Houston either. I hope we can get Pollyana Johns-Kimbrough in SA. Hughes would give her a better shot at some playing time. She's wasting away in Houston.

My logical bet is on Sheri Sam, with Olympia Scott-Richardson coming in second.

My emotional bet is on Vanessa Nygaard, because she ALWAYS pops up somewhere.

My 'what the BLEEP?!' bet is on La'Keshia Frett, because Blaze is... well, Blaze.

Are you counting Orlando and Connecticut as one team? If not, you would also include Wendy Palmer as four, and my leading candidate for five.

Barnes is on the bubble again this year in Seattle, unless...

Lennox goes somewhere with possible trade wars for her talants.

Agreeing that Sam may well be on her way out of Seattle...no personal knowlege on any of this, but I don't think the Championship Storm team can reamain in tact with the hard salary cap.

Interesting that three of the 16 players on the list (easily 20%) were on the Championship team last season.

Yes. Same for Utah and San Antonio.

I think Nygaard was with SASS but cut. Does that count as her fifth team?

I think Sheri and Tamicha are most likely to move again.

Cutting Simone and Adia for rookie salaries would save about 16-20k.

Anne is lobbying hard for Suzy to come over. She'd only be on a 30-32k/year contract and would probably be more useful than Simone Edwards.

Keegs, give us the truth...

Do you really think Bat-girl will ever play a minute in the W? I loved watching her during the Games, but I couldn't help thinking during the Gold Medal match that she felt like she had seen all of the WNBA she wanted after dealing with Thompson, Griffith and Leslie for 35 or more minutes. I have to think she was screaming at Lauren back in the dressing room afterward: Why the heck do you put yourself through all of that beating for the little money they pay you over there???

Of course, if Batkovic had come over to play after the Games, she would have a nice Championship ring to go with her bulging bank account from her previous seasons overseas.

IMHO, we may never be blessed here in the States to see her play. I am interested to hear your take regarding her future. Fun player to watch.

I really don't know. I hope she realises that in order to get better, she has to go to the WNBA but Suzy isn't exactly the most motivated player in the world and Europe is cushy. I know LJ is putting pressure on her and if Carrie Graf becomes the new Opals coach, she may "suggest" to Suzy that the WNBA would be good for her game. We'll see. If she doesn't turn up this year, Seattle will lose their rights to her and she'll be an unrestricted free agent.

If Graf becomes coach of the Opals, does she stay a part of Phoenix in any way? Would they get an interim coach, or would Graf stay in Australia full time?

I believe the plan is she'd keep the Phoenix job and do the Opals job when needed. Apparently BA has changed their policy of the job having to be full-time.

How convenient...

Well it's only taken them several decades. I am surprised they actually bothered after a silver in Athens.
