We lost Peter Jennings, less than an hour ago, to lung cancer. He was 67.
He worked on his job right up until the end.
Thoughts and prayers out to his family, friends, and colleagues. Peter Jennings will certainly be missed.

What a bummer! Kinda hard to grasp. |
You took the words out of my mouth. Hard to believe, really. It happened so fast. He was just getting tons of flak back in March over promoting himself as the last of the big three anchors. Experience and all that. Then in April he announces the lung cancer.
If he had the most common smoker's cancer (small or 'oat' cell carcanoma of the lung) he didn't have a chance anyway but he lived about two months short of the average from diagnosis of that disease to death. It is absolutely the most terminal non-rare disease known to man, from what I've been told._________________ Every woman who has ever been presented with a career/sex quid pro quo in the entertainment industry should come forward and simply say, “Me, too.” - jammer The New York Times 10/10/17 |

Poor guy.
That was really fast.
I just lost my 34 year old cousin to cancer (melanoma) a couple weeks ago.
Cancer sucks.

I had a feeling when he made the announcement of his illness, it was near the end. I don't know why, I just felt it in his voice. I really enjoyed his delivery and the humanity behind his voice. But that night, it didn't feel right.
He was more than just a man telling us the news. I really feel he was the last true rock of TV journalism. He told us the news without an agenda (which is rare these days). He wanted to teach us and get us involved.
