It seems like she scores 16 every game. I don't think she has had quite the season that everybody thought she would have. It started with her injury in training camp, and she just hadn't had as much of an improvement over her rookie year as you would've liked.

you're complaining about 16 points on an injured ankle? If I could get 16 per game out of the Sun's shooting guard with regularity I'd be thrilled.

Oh Puh-leaze!

She's leading her team in scoring. She's 3rd in the eastern conference in scoring. She's 8th in the league in scoring.

She's in the top 20 in the league in both assists and steals as a 2 guard, and #25 in the league in rebounding as a 2 guard.

All on a tender ankle that's greatly limited her driving ability, her best skill.

What does the girl have to do to get some respect?

There have been players with better numbers than that who have played for the Mystics and gotten little or no respect.

Because I am a geek, and because I was curious, I looked it up: http://www.wnba.com/playerfile/alana_beard/game_by_game_stats.html

So she's scored exactly 16 four times. I don't think I've ever seen a player THIS consistent with her scoring. With the exception of the two-point game on June 24th, all her outputs have been between 12-19 points. There's average, and there's average, and that's just... wow.

So yes, statistically, it is a bit odd. But in that good way. Like, you know, most of us.

Who?

BTW, didn't everything criticize the Mystics in the past for standing around and watching CH score, or criticize CH for being a ball hog? Now they have balanced scoring and people wonder, "Why isn't Alana scoring more?"

Richie doesn't allow her to score anymore. He's set quotas for individual for evaluation purposes.
