According to twitter...
Lauren Jackson: no timetable
Katie Gearlds: moving closer to possible return
Sue Bird: day to day

They will pick up a free agent (who???)

And sadly, Swin Cash's grandmother has passed away. My condolences. Swin will miss the final 2 games.

My poor Storm!!! Sad

Maybe they'll sign Dydek to cover the basket so no team can ever score against Seattle

I hope Agler rests Sue for the next 2 games. Not worth the risk!

With no Cash and no KG at the moment, the replacement player should probably be a wing. I wonder who's available?

and if all four will be out, they can technically pick up two free-agents. My guess is Barb Turner returns to the Storm. Does anyone know if Suzy's ankle is ok?? Will she also be out??

Swoopes, DeForge, Newton, Turner, Sequoia Holmes, Kamesha Hairston could all be on the list. Mara Freshour, Kristen O'Neill or Mel Thomas could all be options if Agler wants to specifically bring back someone who's already trained under his system.

oh gosh, please don't even go there!

Now I really really wish that Agler had more foresight and worked on his bench. imo, the free agent has to be Sheryl Swoopes. she's the only one I can possibly imagine getting any playing time.

My prayers are with Swin and her family.

And also with the Storm who always seem to be plagued by things like this late in the season.

From here on, I want everyone to refer to this as "The Curse of the Great Donovino"

That is why the Storm cannot win or even truly compete since 2004.

I'm going to guess it'll be Allie Quigley, Newton, or DeForge.

Those are some good suggestions. add Doneeka Lewis or Allie Quigley to the list. Kristen O'Neill is definitely in town (Seattle U's new assistant), but not sure how the knee is feeling.

We are affected by the curse too, since we were the ones you beat.

That's even more damning.

You mean beyong regular season, because regular season the Storm have done quite well, we even learned to play without LJ, and I can't see her having another injury free season, and we need to have her for the playoffs.

If we had the JB of a few years ago I wouldn't feel so negative, but she hasn't been consistent enough to make a difference in a close game, like the Lynx, we should have won that one.

Maybe they'll sign Dydek if they don't want to go all the way to the championship.

Sorry to hear all this very bad luck for the Storm..... Prayers to Swin and her family.

ps: Hope The Curse of the Great Donovino is not contagious and stays far away from the Mercury and Silver Stars!

Good point, I forgot they waived her because she was hurt rather than because she was unproductive.

And yeah, should've had Allie Quigley on my list of players that might get a call due to previous experience with Agler.

so quite possibly the Storm could be without as many as five players - Cash, Jackson, Bird, Gearlds & Batkovic-Brown - for their next game.

This would leave them with Johnson, Wright, Little, Burse, Robinson, Walker and a player tba. YIKES!!

...from Jayda:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/storm/2009827140_storm09.html

Quote:
Jackson, the team's leading scorer (19.2), is doubtful. She confirmed last week that she has an acute stress fracture and older stress fracture in her lower back. Jackson has been resting and undergoing ultrasounds, massage and icing to heal the area, but is unlikely to play in Seattle's final regular-season games.
Coach Brian Agler didn't sound optimistic about Jackson playing in the postseason.
"I don't even want to go down that path," he said. "I'm going to stay the same and say she's out indefinitely. I do think she's feeling a bit better, but I don't know if that's enough to get back out on the floor. My strong opinion is her health first. With her, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon."

Ugh my two favorite teams bit so bad by the injury bug. I was already resigned to it with the Lynx but now Seattle! Crying or Very sad
