that's great news for Coop. I'm not a big Sparks fan, but you have to give the man credit for his amazing WNBA record. Glad to see him end up with a good job after getting dissed by Buss and Kobe.

As I posted on the other board, from Lisa and Nikki T to Carmelo and K=Mart.
The man attracts prima donnas and problem children doesn't he? Good luck Coop!

Finally, a reason to care about an NBA team. I hope he does well.

I have a feeling , they had him in mind for the job when they hired him. The young ones will bump heads at first, but they are young and not so set in their ways. He'll be able to tame them. I don't think the Lakers would have been good for him though. Kobe would have gotten a beat down, if he tried to pull the same crap he pulled with Phil. Because MadCoop has a ego to uphold too_________________ (¯`v´¯

I hope he wins big. It would demonstrate that coaching women and coaching men are not that different, and could be a half-step towards women getting NBA coaching jobs.

I hope he wins big too. Probably won't be this year, but I think Denver is committed to building a really good team, and I think Kiki really believes in Coop, so he should have time to ride out rough patches and build a contender.
More than anything, I hope they beat the crap out of the Lakers every time they play.

here is a full run-down of stories on Coop and the Nuggets today, if you're interested:
http://womenshoops.blogspot.com/2004/12/coach-cooper-is-ready-to-get-rolling.html
There have been more than a few quotes, in the papers and on ESPN, of the sort: "Hey he won two championships. Yeah, that was only women, but it still means something."
I guess we can take that as either an insult or a compliment.
