Not sure how common it is, but I remember last year that Charlotte cut Tera Bjorklund before the season began, then signed her to a 7-day contract later in the season. It makes some sense . . . if a player had the benefit of training camp with a team and thus has some familiarity with the coaches, team and system, in a pinch they might be able to help out even if they weren't good enough to make the team in the first place.

He didn't cut her. He traded her to us (Phoenix) in the Chandi Jones deal.

I do remember hearing something about him gloating that he managed to pawn her to us.
