Huh? Where does the homophobia come from? I thought they were just being teasing.

If anything, I think they're reading TOO much innuendo into it like the fanboys who read barely visible subtext as full blown raging love affairs in manga. Anyway, I'd think it'd be more like homophilia...

I think it's cute. If one of them were a guy and they were together as much and behaved the same way with each other everyone would say the same thing. If they don't care, neither should anyone else.

But I do hate fangurls, with a passion. Evil or Very Mad They've already ruined 2 of my fav. boards. I just think there's difference between reality and their special brand of crazy. Wink

I don't have a problem with it either....not that it'd matter if I did. I'm a straight male but hey...can't help who you fall in love with so whatever. I just wish more people...WNBA players, NBA players, NFL players...whoever could just come out and say this is who I am, love me or hate me its who I am. That's why I've gained a ton of respect for SS when she came out. And that's why I think its cool they aren't necessarily hiding it or whatever.

But I don't like talking too much about personal player's lives...I just thought it was cool. Very Happy

Memphis said exactly what I was thinking Smile. Cute pic, it's cool to see a great player like Katie Smith win another title and get recognized as finals MVP (though I'll admit I was rooting for San Antonio to win it this year Laughing). Out of curiosity, what site did you get it from icey? I've only seen the ones on the W site and haven't had time to look for any others, so I'd be interested if anyone's got a link cause I'm cheesy and I always like those celebration pics haha.

I think that's why the players take special care to keep their private moments private. They really don't what people all up in their business. But when you keep seeing the same people together over and over, people are just going to speculate. And the truth is unless you know you don't really know. Everyone could just be friends with everyone else.

I have a good,good friend and we are everywhere together movies, shopping, holidays, and family events. Now, you guys got me wondering if people think that way about us. It wouldn't be true but still. I guess you just have to be careful what you assume about someone else.

I was kinda hoping that the original poster would get the clue and edit the post and remove the picture...but if that isn't going to happen...I was hoping this whole thread would get deleted. Times like this I do miss the good old days when people knew better what was "off limits".

What I think is cool is that you have such a refreshing attitude! Very Happy Seriously, 10 or 15 years ago, this topic on a message board would likely be discussed with negativity and hatred. I am truly grateful to see that's no longer the case.

It's interesting to read about how different people interpret the picture. I think people choose to see what they want - or don't want - to see.

Personally, I think the pic is totally adorable, and that's all I'll say about it. Wink

Regarding the whole coming out issue and WNBA athletes, I think Swoopes was extremely brave to come out, particularly at the time she did. I think there are some players who do not come out for fear of negative reactions from family, friends, or perhaps even the "powers that be" at the league or team front office level. There are also some who don't necessarily hide it, but at the same time don't want to become "poster children" and have the "label/identity" take precedence over being known simply as an athlete. Hopefully, someday, there will be no more fear, and the gender of the person someone loves won't be an issue. Until then, we can only respect each player's choice to come out or not, as her own personal decision to make.
