Dost mine own eyes deceive me?

http://sports.espn.go.com/wnba/columns/story?columnist=lieberman_nancy&id=2097122

Did anyone else see this coming? I remember Caune mentioning a "player-for-a-future-draft-pick" scenario...

I saw it coming, maybe because I suggested it to the GM;)
Not the specific trade which I think Cam can take credit for, but the idea of don't cut, trade for a future pick.

So now Sandora gets her chance, lets see what she can do Wink

good trade for Phoenix.

decent trade for Detroit....until Swin comes back. Actually, even then, Plenette as the 11th or 12th person on your roster is very nice front court depth.

It looks like a possible temporary fix for the forward position on the Shock. With Swin still out and I read that Ayana Walker was battling her own injuries Detroit's hand was perhaps forced to make the trade. Looks like a good one for everyone.

So i guess Pierson will main;y play the three? I dont see her getting any time at the four/five. How much experience does she has playing the 3?

you'd think, at least by where she positioned herself more often than not on the offensive side of the court, that she has been playing the 3 all along. Shocked

Does this mean Plenette will start over Walker? 'Cause now Detroits line-up looks solid.

it was future draft picks. The "who" will not be known until after the 2006 draft.

That's one way to solve the "who to cut" issue arising from Stepanova's appearance.

Plennette is NOT a three, but Bill will have to figure that one out all by himself Cool
She was drafted by Shumate to play the three and that didn't last long, but who knows, maybe ol' Trader Bill can get something other then a turnover out of her Rolling Eyes

Braxton wasn't a three either and he started her for a game or two. The thing that annoyed me about Plenette was she played the 4 and she was standing so far away from the basket. Now she can do that and not annoy me cause she could be effective.

maybe the only way Detroit would take PP was if Phoenix took Stinson off their hands? I can easily see Stinson as the cut. One never knows though when it comes to the Merc.

Looks like a great trade for Phx, especially considering how deep the draft is. Dunno what Stint is going to do, but her maturity might help a young team and take some of the burden of of Diana

As for Swin - I'm gettin' a baaaad feeling about her knee.

She looked good in some video I saw during the game this week-end...but, what is up with that nasty bandage? Like there is some drainage going on???

Looking forward to Swin's return.
