The point of this article aside, something else struck me in the text and in the picture that ran with the story:

Quote:
You can climb a 100-foot-high replica of the Eiffel Tower, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and get your picture taken in front of the New York City skyline -- complete with the World Trade Center.

The picture of the mini-New York featured the World Trade Center buildings.

Why? Why would China do this? I just find this weird and upsetting.

From what I have heard, those WTC replicas were erected in 1995. They were just never taken down.

Yeah, well...through last season the basketball-bouncing-around-NYC video sequence on MSG's GardenVision before Liberty games featured twin towers downtown. I believe they did finally edit it this year.

wow...i didn't realize that....

i think i''m more in favor of NOT editing out the Twin Towers if the image or video was created or captured before 9,11. I like the reminder. (maybe like is the wrong word...more like its a necessity to have the reminder.) I am not one in favor of editing out the past especially since destruction was the objective of the enemy. But admittedly, it is always a jolt to see them again in all their glory along with all the life within.

I've got NHL 2002 on my computer, and it seems to have that problem when playing any game at MSG...the loading screen for where the Rangers play has the twin towers prominently displayed there. EA Sports put out a patch to change that picture, but I never could get it to work.

No matter what they're gonna do there, that landscape will never be the same because of what happened that awful day.
