Story from Inside Tennessee(pay)

By Maria M. Cornelius
Date: Dec 10, 2004

Lady Vol freshman guard Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood left Knoxville on Tuesday evening without permission but was expected to return tonight, coach Pat Summitt said Friday.

Wiley-Gatewood, who missed two scheduled practices and apparently a final exam, will not dress out for Sunday's game against DePaul. She was to return to Knoxville on Friday evening.

Screw the practices, she missed a final exam!

This kid may not be long for big time college if it wasn't with a damn good reason.

She may be the second coming of Taj. Taj almost flunked out of Georgia State before ending up NAIA. It didn't seem to hurt her game.

Her mother is very very sick, and it was about that, they, both parents ran her off from home, back to Tennessee, and even though she is getting punished, it is definitely standard punishment for the team violation.

I don't think she is in any real hot water, of course an infraction, warms it up a bit, but provided there isn't recurring problems, she's fine, won't make the trip to La Tech Wednesday either, but I think she is ok, as far as Summitt is concerned. and I'm fairly certain, you are in deep sh*t, if you even have a sniff of academic problems with Pat.
