Today, I had this song stuck in my head..."You might think" by The Cars.
Luckily, at the gym, it quickly turned into "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls.
But "You Might Think" brought back 2nd grade memories...when I first remember hearing the song.

This morning I had "Toxic" by Britney Spears stuck in my head. Funny because I don't even like the song that much. Maybe it was because they used it in the new Dr Who. |

Camrn,
Wow, haven't heard that song by the Cars in a long time!
I was shooting hoops at a local outdoor court yesterday, and some kids had "pour some sugar on me" by Def Leppard on their boombox.
Brought back MANY memories!!

Yeesh. When a song gets stuck in my my head, it gets STUCK. It's a condition that can last for up to a year. And like Cam's Car's tune, they're always from early childhood.
Through most of the last wcbb season it was the "The Tennessee Bird Walk" - and not surprisiongly, I dislike the Lady Vols even that much more now - but since March, it's been the theme to a short-lived 70's show, "Nanny and the Professor."
"Nanny Figgililly is a silly name..."
Oddly, I remember every note and word. And some folks wonder why I'm meaner than a rattlesnake being poked with sticks. Now ya know.

I woke up sining "I'll Never Tell" from the musical episode of Buffy, and it has been in my head ever since. Even though I have been listening to other things almost non-stop.

Say house work and he freezes
She eats the skeezy cheeses that I can't describe
I talk, he breazes
She doesn't know what pleases
His penis got diseases from a Shumash tribe

She's the cutest of the Scoobies
With her lips as red as rubies,
And her firm yet supple .... tight embrace

She clings,
She's needy,
She's also really greedy,
She never ...
His eyes are beady -
This is my verse, Hello!

I was still in the cradle!
(yes, I had to look up what year the song was produced. There was a fair chance I could've still been an ovum ) |

After reading the thread on the other board, all of a sudden "Strange Things" by Randy Newman (Toy Story) is playing in my mind...

Another song that has become stuck in my head:
My baby takes the morning train
He works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again to find me waitin' for him
And then there is this classic tune that made it into my head at the gym last week...
At the Copa, Copa Cabana
The hottest spot North of Havana
Here at the Copa, Copa Cabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa...They fell in love

In a restaurant about a year ago and the guy had one of those 'cocktail lounge' CDs going, it was STUCK ON REPLAY and kept playing the same song OVER and OVER again. But the music was down real low. Neither he nor the staff noticed.
And it was one of those unfortunate things where WE didn't notice it either. So while you're sitting there eating this thing is quietly doing its psychological damage.
Over and over again. Relentless. Unbeknownst to anyone.
Then finally you notice. You're pretty sure you've been listening to the same song, but not quite positive. So now you're really listening. Now you're a willing participant in the process of BURNING IT into your brain.
Could it be the same song?
Is that...
Oh God.
Yes. It IS!
Stuck on perpetual repeat:
