Am I the only person who doesn't watch that show? I don't get what the big deal about it is. AbFab and Buffy reruns are much better anyway.

They show American Idol down here now and Australian Idol runs later in the year.

I watched the first series of Australian Idol but it gets kinds of boring. Wow you can now see how they manufacture pop stars; I'd rather the process remain somewhat arcane Wink

I'm actually pretty proud of the fact that I've never seen it. And based on the people who haven't in this thread, I'm in pretty good company!

Ugh.

I suffered through it a few times while hanging out with friends who like that stuff - but no way I'd ever suffer it otherwise. Then again, I'd rather suffer an eternity of Idol than have to watch ten minutes of people kissing up to Donald Trump.

Actually, since the college hoops season ended I don't think I've turned on the tube more than two or three times. Life's too, um, interesting.

I'm with dtsnms (what's that stand for btw?) in that I find it comforting I'm not alone iin this particular aversion. Granted, I'm not, however as impressed with the company. Razz

I watched the first season until Tamyra Gray got voted off. After that I knew it was rigged so I gave up on it.

I have never watched Idol either, nor have I watched Survivor or The Apprentice for that matter.
If the finished product is any good then maybe I'll buy a CD, but I have no interest in being able to say "I saw that artist when they were young, raw and sang covers" Wink

My dad likes to tune in to see Simon berate the contestants, but that's it. I don't get the pleasure of watching middling singers try to be great singers.

My TV exists for three reasons: Jeopardy, sports, and movies.

Same here. Guess we must be from the same ghetto, homey. We have established our street cred. Smile
