Sulka's responsible for the "lucky balls"? Really, Taurasi and Taylor are there because the Merc got the #1 pick at an opportune time. I doubt she's trying to say he's responsible for them sucking so badly that they had a great shot at it, although he deserves some of the credit/blame for that.

I wouldn't say Seth is responsible for lucky balls but this Phoenix team doesn't exist purely by luck.

Penny wasn't considered the consensus top pick, as you yourself has stated several times (as of last year, you weren't even convinced she was the top choice). And Penny was considering not playing in 2004, until Seth got Timmsy to intervene.

given enough high draft picks even the Lynx can be in the playoffs |
Well, let's not go overboard. Minnie had six players on their roster who were top 6 picks in the draft, two more than Phoenix. |
Well maybe 6 is not enough...7 might be the magic number for them |
Ironically, in the Lynx' two playoff appearances to date (2003 and 2004), they didn't have anyone drafted higher than 6th on their rosters...

I wasn't counting her because she was out for the year.

You guys going to get off my girl Chandi. I don't know why she did not succeed in this league but she was/is an above average player. Maybe she never got a chance.

She had a chance with two teams. She wasn't able to consistently contribute when she wasn't the focal point of the offense. It might be a different story if she has recovered from her injuries, but not every player can make it in the WNBA. There are plenty of great college players who have not/will not make it in the WNBA. Look at Shereka Wright.
None of that changes the fact that trade was bad for Phoenix...

*pats self on back
Timmsy intervened at the behest of mb, who after chatting with Seth, sent an urgent message to Michele.
It was not so much the drafting of DT or Cappie, but the hiring of Westhead and trading for Miller that warranted Seth's recent praise.
DeForge fans questioned the move strongly.
