Why do I have a feeling those two being injured actually helps the Shock...

Detroit plays well when given adversity. We've seen it before, and I expect to see it in the future.

With Ford down and Nolan not 100%, that will only make inconsistent players like Braxton, Feenstra, and Johnson play that much harder.

well their bench and reserves are going to REALLY have to step it up if both Ford and Nolan are out. Katie Smith as well, although im sure she will, shes a beast! Braxton and Tree are gonna have to dominate the post for DET if they want to win

How come I can't find anything about this injury to Nolan besides this link. Its not on wnba.com, shock.com or anything. If someone find another reliable link please let me know, hopefully it isn't as serious as this article makes it seem or whatever.

That's true but for Phoenix it's not like Nolan could stop Cappie so she will have a field day on who ever they put on her if Nolan can't play...

I hope it's not that serious.... It just wouldn't be the same if she's not out there....

Didn't say when the injury happened either, maybe this could have happened like Game 1 or whatever and its just now getting out. I'm not really familiar too much with the injury so I don't know if its something she could have played through or whatever but she hasn't been her same self this series so that's why I say maybe she's been playing through this for a while.

Not only does Detroit play well when all chips are down, but Phoenix never wins when they should win.

That's ashame though, if Nolan is out. I don't want Phoenix to win like that. And a great player like Nolan should be part of this game.

I don't know exactly how things get out in the press, so it could just be that the articles haven't been put up yet for Eastern times. (Because it would be later in the evening when the news broke)

So we should keep her fingers crossed that she's okay, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

I will reserve comment til there is confirmation. It would be a big loss for Detroit but nothing beyond their ability to step up. Will Phoenix be able to exploit if those two not in the lineup? We will have to wait and see.

According to Shock Game 5 Game Notes:
http://www.wnba.com/shock/news/notes.pdf

Quote:
Cheryl Ford (left knee sprain) is doubtfulDeanna Nolan (Hyper extended left knee) is doubtful

I think they will both play (at least Nolan) but we will see.

wow. Pee Wee is listed as the probably starter, with Elaine Powell.

but of course, the Shock have until 1 hour before the game to submit their final lineup...

The chances are good that Nolan will play, but her effectiveness will be uncertain. Others will need to increase their contributions in place of the injured starters. "Let's hope we all take advantage of that," guard Katie Smith said.

Man I pray this is just SFO messing with Phoenix. The see she's going to come out first half and score probably 2 points and then in the second half EXPLODE for 35 as she carry the team to victory.

Swin has to step up, Braxton and Feenstra have to step up, Latta and Powell have to step up, PeeWee has to step up, coaching staff have to step up, EVERYBODY HAVE TO STEP UP.

The injury definitely happened or was exacerbated during Game 4, toward the end -- ESPN showed a replay where Nolan and another Shock player collided in the air and Nolan then was favoring her knee.

So, Nolan and Ford get injured in the same exact play. I really wish that play hadn't of happened, I blame Cappie somehow someway for this. If she wasn't driving then Nolan doesn't come down on Ford's knee and Nolan doesn't mess up her knee either. Haha, relax I'm kiddin.

I'm blaming it on the lack of thundersticks at the Palace! Which we better have on ALL the seats for the game tomorrow!!!!!
