being both tivo and vcr-less, i got to thinking... why not? it's summer. i can afford to have a tv disease.
hoping someone with more experience in these matters than i can answer a question: does tivo record in HD?

Looks like they have it, don't know the cost or the capablilities, are you on satellite or cable? This link is for DirecTV's TIVO w/HD recording capability.

cablevision needs to get their shit together and offer this. do you hear me dolan? fire blaze, then get me HD tivo!

Have you checked with Cablevision, they have one here, it's a DVR or PVR, I think most cable companies offer it, we're on Comcast here.

Time Warner Cable has DVR, I believe Cable Vision does too.
