Saw them play in person last season and was relatively impressed. Expect them to make some serious noise in the conference in the near future.

In other UNC news, head coach Ron Vlasin sounds prety excited his newest recruit, Whitley Cox from Las Vegas. Yes, coach-speak rules demand that excitement, be it real or feigned, must be expressed upon signing any player, but this seems genuine.

"Whitley is probably the best student-athlete we have recruited since I have been at UNC," head coach Ron Vlasin said. "She is a quality student and a terrific all-around player."

*Feigns innocence*

That reminds me, the Bears held a lead over Maryland late in a game in late February before the Terps made a last-minute run to avoid being upset on their home floor.

Yes, and as one myself when I see "UNC" and "Big Sky", I think of the Tar Heel men's big upset to Big Sky member Weber State in the 1st round of the 1999 NCAA tournament. Very Happy

That was my second year at Duke Law. We were at George's Garage watching the game. Weber State winning made for a great evening. And that UNC team was filled with such quality people as Heywood, Lang, Cota, and Okalija (sp?).

And the Weber State star was Harold Arceneaux (sp?), who had a nifty nickname that I can't remember. Maybe Harold "The Show" Arceneaux? I don't know (age).
