Think about this for just one second. Ok neither Fowles or Parker will be in the draft this year. But IF they were. Who would you take as your #1? It's been said many times even on this board. Whatever year Candace Parker comes out she'll go #1. Parker maybe the masses favorite player. And most definitely the most popular college women's player. And I personally love Parker and had her as my #1 this year or any year. But with the way Silvia Fowles is playing...It'll be very hard to take even Candace Parker over her right now.

No, but it will be a good year to have the #2 pick.

And if the Charlotte Sting were still around, they'd have gotten pick #3.

Hopefully the Sparks get the second pick. Keep Fowles in purple and gold.

LLL's twin!! Shocked Laughing

I'm dead serious! Lisa did play for LSU, no? Fowles may be the perfect choice for you Sparks! Awesome game! She could not be stopped tonight!

You think they were danferous, then? The W's in for a RUDE-AWAKENING!! Very Happy (I'm still a Merc fan, Icey. Don't get any ideas! Laughing )

Hopefully the Liberty can finish with the same record as last year or a little better and still end up in the Lottery. Of course the Liberty wouldn't have any luck with the Lottery again, they'd end up with the 5th or 6th pick again. Rolling Eyes

It's too early to be talking about next year. There are so many other players who will be just as good or better.

Good question. While CP has more of an all around gm I really have been more entertained by watching Big Syl's gm mature (save her free-throw form). The post is her house & she knows how to protect her house. It would be good for her to extend her range I guess but if I have plenty of people who extend the D I don't need her anywhere else but down low.

But as pilight said, CP probably still #1 (or 1a) but how nice to get at #2 ( 1b)

I agree, but next year is so loaded with talent that Sylvia probably wont go second. No one knows the draft order yet. But Candace (with the other Candice close behind) will go first for sure.

Candace will go first because of the media exposure too..She's like Taurasi..Taurasi was going #1 whether the GM thought she was the best player or not..

If my team needed a center as opposed to a PF, I might pick Fowles. Of course, right now Parker comes with way more hype which would equal more tickets sold. Both will be great players so I'd say it's a good year to have the #1 or #2 pick! I don't understand how they (ESPN) can say Parker is clearly the best player in the country.

Hum, since you seem to have a connection to the Bay Area I can follow your line of thinking Wink

My top 4 picks today for the '08 draft, in no real order would be Parker (I say she leaves w/her class), Fowles, Wiggins & Langhorn. Depending on a teams need of course because after them there is a ton of talent left on the board Shocked

So many high profile talented seniors in '08 - what fun Exclamation

If you have the No. 1, you can probably trade the pick to a team with the No. 2 to get Fowles and another player. If you have the No. 1 pick in the year when there is such a wanted consensus as the top pick, you have to either take that player or trade the pick. If you don't, you haven't maximized what you have.

No chance that Parker doesn't go #1 next year...unless she comes out this season. Fowles is #2, but she's a GREAT #2 pick to have.

If Erlana Larkins can lay off the ham sandwiches this summer, she would be the likely #3, with Langhorne and Wiggins following behind.

Hmm. good point. I'd say there's a 90+% chance Parker will go first... The constant hype has started to get to me though. It's not fair to her or the other players.

Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton could go very high.

Ahead of Larkins, for sure. As to the thread question, it would be a nice dilemma. How things might have been different last September in Ibirapuera...
