Lauren Neaves became the Rice All-Time Rebound Leader, male or female, last Thursday night.
Jillian Robbins had her jersey retired following the loss today against Neaves and Rice.
Two more regular season games for Rice, both at home. The Rice seniors, Neaves, Stovall and Frazier, will be honored before Saturday's game.
Saturday the 24th is also National Girls and Women in Sports Day to be celebrated with a multisport clinic for girls age 6-11.

Nice story on Lauren in the newspaper today about becoming the all time Rice rebound leader, male or female. She is among the best to have played at Rice.

Looks like Lauren got a broken nose tonight in the loss to UAB. It looked like maybe an ankle or knee when she was lying there, but there was blood all over her arm and the towel went to her face. She is a very tough woman and to be pounding the court in pain showed the severity.
If it's a broke nose, I wonder if she will be well enough by Saturday at 5 pm - the Rice Owls last game at Autry Court.
Way to show spirit and continue to fight without Lauren!

Here is the Rice-UAB game story for the Feb. 22 game.

It confirms that Lauren Neaves did break her nose, which was what we assumed when we saw her bleeding. I'm still not sure how it happened - she just fell to the floor all of a sudden; I didn't see the contact.
Here's hoping she's okay to play Saturday against Memphis. Then there's just a short break before the C-USA tournament starts March 1.
Carmen Guzman was very impressive for UAB, btw.

Thanks for sharing the pictures from last night's game, CB. The senior ceremony was very nice. I'll miss seeing those players next year.
