The politics surrounding Maria is interesting. The Russian Basketball Federation or whatever it's called has a really high opinion of her for no particularly good reason. Maybe it really is because she's tall and blonde.

They didn't even mention Belinda Snell in the article nor correct her height Evil or Very Mad (she's 5'11"!)

Come on... you didn't really expect them to mention Snell did ya?
They don't know her from a bar of soap at this point.
Personally I think it's a good thing that she's able to arrive with minimal fanfare or expectations. Much less pressure that way.
