Despite the absence of a number of starters, Coyle said she would have no problem preparing the Liberty for its first preseason game, May 15 against the Seattle Storm, the defending W.N.B.A. champion, at Madison Square Garden. The Liberty opens the regular season against the Detroit Shock on May 22 at the Garden.

Looks like those starters aren't the only things that are absent... I think Lena Williams forgot to put a calendar up on her desk. The first preseason game is actually May 7th at MSG against the Storm Shocked

Richman better than Coyle thought.

Becky could move to the 2.

from nj.com:
Coyle expects Donaphin, thrust into the starting role at center after the midseason injuries, to have more confidence from hitting the buzzer-beater to win Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against Detroit last year.

"Not only did she hit an unbelievable shot, but it's Game 3," she said. "It's unbelievable. The confidence she's gotten ... All season, she got better each day."

ummm, patty? that was one play. an unbelievable play, no doubt. but just one. everyone's gonna get a lucky shot sooner or later. get over it. she's not all that.

I agree. She was left open because the D broke down after Becky's penetration. It's not like she created the play or that the play was even run for her.

I'm sure Bethany has more confidence - it's the talent part that's lacking.

Why would you insult Flutie like that? He was MVP of the CFL a zillion times and would have been a great NFL QB if he'd ever been given a chance.

Gerard Phelan, who caught that pass, is a better comparison.

Hey Patty...crack is whack!! Donaphin made ONE good shot and it wasn't even meant for her!!! The play broke and she happened to be left open. However, one play doesn't a dependable/talented player make.

Bethany should be carrying D-Train's shoes!!! Nothing more!
