Surprised to see her slide this far.

I never thought she should have been at the draft, I thought she might drop this far.

As pissed as I still am at her and Young for busting Minnesota out of the NCAA run, I think she has more talent than a third round pick. Her best days are ahead of her and I hope she knows that right now. AND she has to sit there ALL THIS TIME next to Mulky Robertson... she has all my pity. Have the cameras managed to avoid all the froth and stomping around or is she sitting there like a mature coach should?

Some people in Stormland are saying that the coaches must know something the general public doesn't, which is why Blackmon slipped as far in the draft as she did. They also hypothesize that as a third-round pick, Blackmon won't make the team.
Are they right, or are they on crack?

I don't know about the first one but I think it's very possible Blackmon doesn't make the team. Let's compare her to competitor Frierson - Blackmon probably moves better but Frierson has a wider body and better range. |

It's gonna come down to which one plays better defense. Neither of them will ever hear their names called on offense, so shooting range is not something AD will be looking at. Plus, won't they have to pay Frierson more (although by not much?)

I don't think the salary will be an issue.
Yes, D will be an important factor but I think they will look at the whole package. What if LJ goes down? It's also best to drill against complete players.
I don't think it's particularly important though. Blackmon or Frierson (or whoever else) - unless somebody get injured, they'll be practice players and warming the bench. |
