So the NCAA management council met earlier this week and voted to approve "most" of the WBCA's proposals about recruiting and access, including the one designed to limit nonscholastic teams and tournaments for HS players during the academic year:

Anyone know what else they approved? In particular, I'm wondering whether they greenlighted or redlighted the proposal to ban NCAA DI coaches from working for pro basketball teams other than as players. This is the much-talked-about rule that would make Pat Summitt cut her ties with the Mystics, and ban Geno from color commentary in TV games for the Sun. (Remember, even if passed, it will not ban coaches from playing in the W.) The website doesn't say what else they approved, only that they approved "most" of the men's and women's hoops proposals; most of the website text is devoted to football.

just what I was hoping someone would do this morning...weird that the piece didn't run the day after the proposals went through, but maybe the KC Star had too much men's sports news.
