Kelli Roehrig is quite possibly one of the slowest players to ever play in the Final Four. I noticed tonight that sometimes Tenn was already taking a second shot after setting up the offense by the time Roehrig got back to defend in the lane. For a bit she was only able to "run" from free throw line to free throw line while the game was going on all around her. MSU is limited to a 4-person transition game.

Spartans, I love and respect you all; congratulations, but gosh, golly, Kelli get a little fire under your feet.

Boy did she just suck until the final minutes; then...redemption!

I heard a rasping sound during most of the game; was that her sliding down the draft boards? You *can't* miss those chippies if you're 6'4" and built like an armored assault vehicle.

And yes, Kelli saved their hinies (haynie, haynes...) at the end. The whole game she was usually the last one up the court, last one down the court, last one in general. I kept wondering how MSU was playing with just 4 real players on the court, but I have seen MSU play many times and Kelli does a lot of work. Too bad she isn't in better shape for the W, but I think her body movements are incredibly efficient and not attention grabbing, so she is easy to ignore while she is at work. I hit the rewind many times during those final seconds and it was Kelli's fast feet that made her intimidate and ultimately block those last chance shots Tennessee basically blew.

On the side, Kelli is a stand up girl. I saw her go over, console and hug a distraught and sobbing USC player when they played here in Minneapolis. Whenever she is interviewed, she is humble and always sunny and positive talking about any other player.

Roehrig does seem to be a great person. Perhaps Kelli can pick up some tips from Sean May on dominating the full 40. Bruce Weber apparently got fashion advice from Pat Summitt; she can pull off the orange blazer much better though.

Whenever I see her, I think of a shorter Summer Erb.

Roehrig was absolutely terrible tonight. She got exploited in transition. She got beat on the boards. She took some horrible shots.

Not pretty.

Dammit!
