Bridgette Gordon loved her life as a basketball player, savoring the camaraderie, competition and travel that comes with international play.

The former Monarchs forward helped Tennessee to four Final Four appearances, including NCAA titles in 1987 and 1989. She earned a spot on the U.S. team that won a gold medal in the 1988 Olympics, spent eight seasons playing for an Italian League squad that won seven championships and played on the first two Monarchs teams, in 1997 and 1998.

She played briefly in Turkey, then worked as a broadcaster for Fox Sports South before following a vision she's had since childhood: coaching.
